Axar is a certified darter. He is not that much of a bowler as he has no classic left arm spinner qualities. USed to be good with defensive bowling. But on unhelpful pitches he is kedar jadhav level these days

Dropped a sitter and took a blinder. The catch he took was similar to the Marsh one he took in WT20. The drop was surprising as it was a relatively simple catch which high up in the air. I don't expect Chahal, Siraj, Kohli to take such catches but was surprised to see Axar drop it.

He isn't test bowler. In Jaddu's absence he was brought in for England test 2021 after Nadeem proved to be totally ineffective at Chennai in first test, otherwise I don't think TM sees him as test spinner.

If Axar played against Nz in place of Siraj and Akashdeep in two rank turners we might have won the game. Because he is tall he has that reach to smother spin and santner ajaz wouldnt have been able to get him out so easy. He did same against taijul shakib in bangladesh and against lyon murphy kuhnemann.. he is a better batsman than bowler. He could have even replaced a batsman.

Good batsman, but Is he an ODI no. 5? 

 

It feels like with him there is a lot of dot balls and bogged down before a big release shot attempt
