Kab tak aas laga ke rakhoge? We've been hearing this for the last 5+ years and variations of "form is temporary, class is permanent". The problem is that if majority of your career is the form you've displayed for the last 5+ years, that's no longer your form, that is essentially your class.

In case of kohli's test career, the phrase 'Form is temporary, Class is Permanent' does not apply.  He never was a great test batter.  Except for a brief period (2015-2018), he has always been mediocre in tests, averaging in 45-50 range.  Yes, he was a GOAT in LOIs till 2019. Though his overall record in ICC KOs hv not been particularly good enough.

My point exactly. He hit a brief purple patch in mid 2010s and was mediocre before and has been mediocre since. Also wouldn't read too much into bilateral ODI series where Kohli excelled. It's akin to Pak fans biggying up Babar and Rizwan. If Kohli was so great that he averaged 60+ and scored 100s for fun in chases, how come he went missing every time in the ICC tourney knockouts? That's what really matters as nobody remembers those meaningless bilateral wins.

Form is temporary, decline is permanent! Kohli is done, stick a fork in him!
