Can we bury the myth about "experience" and "seniors" making a difference?

We keep on hearing about "experience" and a difference our experienced stars will make. We continue to hear from media and fans how "King" Kohli and "Hitman" Sharma are a must for Australia. But the fact is these players are only "experienced" at holding us back. They haven't made an impact away and never will. They are kings of cheap runs like Kohli coming in at 300/2 last Test and scoring a cheap hundred against likes of Labuschagne and Mitch Marsh.

But when you want someone to stand up, put their hand up when situation demands it, they go missing as always. It's not a surprise that youngsters like Jaiswal and Nitish Reddy who're making their first trip to Aus are looking our best players. And last time India won in Aus it was all newbies. It's our youngsters along with our bowling who've made the difference but don't think bowlers can be asked to clean the cr@p every time.

I've said it earlier and will say it again, the seniors don't add any value and drag the team down. Replace these fair-weather batsmen who are specialists in making cheap, impactless runs with likes of Jurel, Jadeja, Sundar etc. and we would be much better. And now we'll pay for Kohli's useless, meaningless 100 in the last game for another couple of years. And if these two are picked for CT, we won't even make it to the knockout stage.

Our so called senior players who're supposed to lead by example, scored 20 runs combined in the match across 4 innings. We may as well play 2 bowlers instead of these two useless piece of shytes.

It's not 100% inaccurate but they must have some semblance of "form" & fitness! The *s we have are just there to make money, have no real motivation to play anymore & just playing to make tons of fans as their enemy but given their PR even that's unlikely  :whack2:

Bumrah is also experienced and is a senior. Both are a must in test cricket and in majority in the team.

Both Rohit and Kohli are not willing to take the bowlers on. They should try a bit of Bazball and not try to grind it out

Experience means nothing without form and age

Jurel and sundar should be playing in place of Kohli and Sharma and results will be different

but alas , we want to do the same stupidity again and again .

We lost to NZ as we kept Jurel and Axar on bench, and here we broke up a winning combination to accommodate Rohit. Both are liabilities and as always its the bowlers and youngsters whose job it is to win the match.

Poor Bumrah, and to a lesser extent Shami have been dragging these stars for a long time. Had Bumrah and Shami gooten just a little bit of support or one batsman who actually shows up when it matters like Gambhir or Head, and they would've literally won everything. But these two @$$hats did nothing at all to help bowlers.

Couple of examples to support your point

Last BGT we won with contributions from gill, pant, Sundar, thakur, natrajan, siani and siraj.

Pujara was the only senior with consistent performances.

In our Sri lanka tour, our team with seniors lost ODIs 0-3. On the same pitches and against same bowling, our youngster with no seniors won the T20 series 3-0

If they really want experience they might as well go with Kahane who is king of boxing day test lol Averaing 73 with 2 centuries. Only Indian in history has more runs in boxing day test than Rahane which is sachin. This Rohit is useless even in best of form.

Even on this tour, Nitish Reddy and Jaiswal have looked our best batters. Bumrah is the only experienced player who's showing up. Rest are all being carried, especially the two senior most players in Kohli and Rohit.

Not just Pujara, Ashwin & Jadeja also had consistent performances - then Rahane arguably had the biggest impact on the series at MCG. It's fine dissing on seniors when they don't perform, but you need to highlight their good performances as well.

The point is that experience isn't a difference maker, and you need performing players irrespective of experience. If a youngster is in form and performing they should get in the team and not some seniors just coz of "experience" which is touted by our selectors and fans often. Doesn't mean every experienced player should be kicked out.

What we're saying is that performance is the main criteria, and you shouldn't get a free ride just because of experience the way Kohli and Rohit are. Kohli has been a tailender for last 5+ years and Rohit's entire Test career away from home has been mediocre to say the least. They don't deserve to play as we have better options. Jurel, Sarfaraz, Jadeja, Sundar, and even Axar are much better options to replace Rohit & Kohli but our selectors are stuck on "experience".

It's not a myth, it's a narrative set through PR and control of the administration.

It's a myth if you actually believe it to be true, most Indian experts won't criticized them, because no one wants to mess with the mafia, foreign experts don't care as long as they get their dollars in the bank.

lol they are going to drop Rana from the 3rd test, yes he was the problem, when you couldn't cross 200 in both the innings. The so called seniors, in which team you could average sub 25 for 5 years and still be a certainty.

If they drop Rana, while these mofos still play, I am supporting Australia, I hope they get annihilated.

Being "senior" is neither a good thing not a bad thing. Ultimately, it comes down to the current form and ability exhibited by said seniors. In the case of Bumrah and Pant, the fact that they are senior is not hurting us; and in Ro-Ko's case, it is a clear drawback. It comes down to their respective form.
