as an espresso drinker i thought this thread was about TDS-"total dissolved solids" in water which is very important in making good coffee.please do not use indian tap water to make coffee.its TDS is off the charts.

here is my key to making est coffee no mater the method of preparation

1)coffee has to be fresh, cannot buy pre ground coffee as you will lose aromatics the moment you grind it.after 20 days the coffee is stale.a good investment in a gronder is the best coffee decision you can make, even a hand grinder would do for filter coffee.

2)water.bad hard water is the enemy of coffee,if its TDS is high it will result in bitter coffee.

its one of the reasons why south indians are ok with bitter coffee i think, they even add bitter chicory to it but add a lot of milk to compensate.

TDS yella hi-fi. We boil water separately in a paatre not in enclosed containers for scaling to happen !For filter kaapi, what matters is dark roasted coffee powder mixed with chicory (90-10 for my taste) . You should know your brand (prefer chikkamaglur ) and the filter more than your wife. How much measure of water and coffee powder. If you use a different spoon/measure, it messes the coffee taste.

We use filtered water which usually softens. In India, never used tap water, aquaguard or filtered. My Christmas shop list has a coffee grinder and a coffee press. Want to try other than South Indian filter coffee. Have used espresso machine- too much maintenance. Last year used a percolator, best thing 25 bucks will give better coffee than any espresso machine

One of the advantage of living in old Bengaluru is the access to Cauvery water & the local coffee powder vendor. I buy the coffee powder from the local vendor every week for freshness and he too roasts a limited quantity of beans

India is a very costly country to run and maintain.

So the small productive class will be taxed hard and the living standard in cities will continue to deteriorate.

The risk aversion will be the doom for middle class. Either take risks to increase the wealth OR jump out of the country OR abandon the traditional middle class values and become a full fledged dehat.

The status quo will be very disastrous.

There has been no change in the GST rate for popcorn. Popcorn served in cinemas as a standalone item is considered part of restaurant service and remains taxed at 5%. When mixed with salt and spices, popcorn is classified as namkeen under GST and also attracts a 5% rate. However, if it is pre-packed and labelled, the tax increases to 12%.

GST on second-hand car sale clarification

yeah Tai confused everyone herself with her explanation. This is for car dealers who sell old cars, they'd need to pay GST though it passes to eventual buyer. The guy in above tweet seems to be talking about Capital gains.

This explains it better
