I dont know if its his length but he seems to always miss the edge. Either a miss or the middle, never seems to find the edge.

always a bit short of length. just like early career ishant

Yup. If you're consistently beating the bat, you're bowling a half yard short.

India has terrible think tank obviously. These things should be caught in 2 overs. Bumrah does hsi bit by talking to bowlers on and off. But they have to work as a unit not as disciples of Bumrah.  They should collectively form strategies and see how to work over one batsman. Also set fields so that they don't rotate strike easily.

That's why we're missing Bharat Arun so much. He was one guy who was able to get to the players/bowlers. He even had rookies bowling to a plan in 2020-21. I don't know why he hasn't been persisted with.

Confused by this thread. Akash Deep has easily been India's 2nd best bowler in the series.

It's about him looking way better than his stats, i.e.he's not having anywhere the impact he should have. He's bowling a tad short and not getting wkts to support Bumrah, which is what his role is. He's decent and would be much better in NZ, Eng and SA where pitches provide a lot more help. But you do expect your specialist pacers to pick up wkts and not just beat the bat on a regular basis.

Siraj is the 3rd highest wicket taker this series behind Bumrah and Cummins at 16. What’s your benchmark?

Akashdeep has 5 wickets.

siraj has been better than akashdeep, but it should be noted that a lot of his wkts were "soft" wickets.

Wickets are wickets hard or soft . Others should have taken them too

He helped us win the second test in England.. he has the tools to be useful in SEN.. its the fitness and extra effort that counts

On one thread, someone is bashing Prasidh...other thread folks are bashing Akashdeep.

Siraj will anyway swing from best bowler of the day to worst.

Washy & Jadeja too will get crucified if Gill gives them more overs.
