Do we have the captains who know how to rotate them ? NKR, Hardik, Abhishek, Sundar, Axar, Parag all are allrounders, some are stronger with bat some with ball. Likes of Tilak too can contribute if needed. I mean in ODI cricket under Kohli and Rohit. In T20's it looks better under SKY

Shorter the format, higher the changes of individual brilliance having an impact. Nikhil_cric 1

Nikhil_cric Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Just now, Lord said: Parag,Axar,Hardik,NKR all can do the job in ODIs. Tilak and Rinku can roll their arm over too. I mean Hardik and Axar are not youngsters. Among the newer guys , I agree completely - NKR and Parag are the youngsters who have shown most promise. But Parag is an exceptionally attractive prospect because he has technique and can bat even in the top order while also giving the ball a good rip. The rest are all lower order hitters mainly Lord and tweaker 2

I don't think any other team has so many in form batsmen. Jaiswal - currently best batsman in world KL Rahul - good opener for SENA Gill - he has poor record, but has been in form in recent times. Scored 30 odd in each inning at Adelaide and got dropped after 1 failure. Sarfaraz - Technically weak, but in good form nonetheless. Handy all rounders Reddy Sundar Jadeja Wicketkeepers - both are clutch Pant - Just having a average series. Otherwise in good form. Jurel Pacers Bumrah - Best in world Siraj/Rana/Deep - they are 3rd pacer. Weaknesses 1. Lack of 2nd pacer 2. Making keeper bat in first 2 hrs just after keeping for 100 overs. Drop Rohit and Kohli and this team will start beating everyone again. Exactly. People are blaming Pant and others when these are normal failures. No one performs every game. However RoKo failing everytime. Heck we dominated in Perth with Rohit out. The team is fine except these two. bowl_out 1

As did Rahane in the past Rohit and Kohli have totally declined... so right now there is no excuse there. Do they need to leave the team now? Yes. You answer this - why are the first 2 years of Jaiswal and some allrounders being compared to last 5 years of Rohit/Kohli/Rahane/Pujara - the worst phase of their career? This idea that no specialist ever can perform (except Jaiswal) because a declined Rohit/Rahane/Kohli cannot is just wrong. Jaiswal will go thru a bad patch too... you will be here and I will be here then too.

Because they are all in the same team,no? as I earlier explained, its not just Rohit/Kohli who's under performing, others are too. @express bowling detailed it out. Ofcourse no one is actually suggesting we pick allrounders instead of specialist bats. Its a rhetorical question highlighting the non performance of specialist bats. express bowling and Vijy 2

Some are literally ending and some are beginning. For eg you cannot compare a Carlos Alcaraz of 2024 with a Rafael Nadal of 2024 just because they were playing the same tournies either. One is beginning, one is ending. Should the oldies retire from the team? Absolutely. Do they deserve to be in the team? On current evidence they do not. Edited December 31, 2024 by AKane Vijy 1

Alcaraz and Nadal are not playing for the same team.Team sports are different from individual ones. The only question is whether they are good enough to continue playing. Age can not be used to give them any benefit. Currently only Jaiswal passes that Test among specialist batsmen

adi B Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Have you ever noticed why Fatso always picked a Jadeja or a Ashwin or a Sundar or a Axar over Kuldeep even though it was crystal clear that Kuldeep was a better bowler and future star than these players in the last 2 years ? That was to deepen the batting ,to give more cushion to the failing batsmen like Kohli ,himself ,Rahul ,even Pujara. If the batting especially the top order was performing than their was no need for an extra AR Lord 1

In terms of bowling impact, Kuldeep could have exceed all 4 potentially - at least Sundar and Axar - with the ball.

Yup ,the batsmen have been saved multiple times by the Bowlers in the last 4 years ,sometimes its ash, sometimes Jaddu, sometimes Sundar or axar . We would have lost to England in Ahmedabad as well but for Late order fight ,also BGT 2023,Mirpur Test , Lord's test ,many more Lord and Vijy 1 1
