Yeah, but the demography is a challenge.

Sleeper cells are quite active there.

Siliguri is still no Kashmir... It is one of the most secured locations in the country & most of senior Jernails still attest to that.  Indian state has a clear FAFO doctrine in such areas.

Only existential threat to the region is a massive Chinese offensive in the area in War Time.

India needs to be better in its defence mechanisms rather against China.

Geography is biggest hurdle for both sides for an offensive.

Drones in huge numbers, upgraded MBRL>=300 km in great numbers, towed artillery, light Tanks and modern gear for armed forces.   More fighter jets obviously.  This helps a lot in a localised border conflict.

We can't match them in missile warfare as they are sitting Right on Tibet.  Their Small range and medium range ballistic missiles will be enough for them if they really want to flatten our population centres.  And they would be humongous in numbers..But Chances of that are unlikely as it Will trigger nuclear response from India.

Our doctrine has started to shift rather... Real battle is in IOR.

India needs minimum 4 aircraft carriers in next decade with at least a couple nuclear powered ones.

Their missiles are untested.

Fateh which is glorified chinese medium range missile was a joke.

You think a country other than US  that can land rovers to Mars can't build hypersonic missile? And no they don't give their Advanced missile tech to anyone let alone a mercenary state like Pak who can spill all of that for a few dollars to US.

I have read that P@ki missile tech is pretty dated.. all of Ghori Abdali Shaheen etc are extremely old dated  now and while they can carry sizeable warhead.. their accuracy and effectiveness was always questionable.  They are like India's extremely old Prithvi variants.

Fatah 2 acts as MBRL almost.. it's a glorified rocket almost, calling it a missile is a  long stretch.. it is not built for accuracy and can be easily intercepted by any half decent AD.  They are probably short of them as it is built for a barrage literally.

Iran has solid Ballistic missiles program otoh.  They are probably a decade ahead of Pakistanist@nis

India's own missile warfare capability is in developmental state.

Except Brahmos we are also new to all this..

Our subsonic cruise missiles have only made it past testing phase.. like Nirbahay Pralay etc.

Agni series is as secretive like Chinese Dongfeng.

This is a false equivalence.

On one hand chinese will give 5th gen fighter to pak. Yet will not share hypersonic missiles.?

Not sure how true this is, but if there is truth to this claim. IAF leadership should be wacked.

Quote

The loss of a Rafale is unexpected, given the capabilities of that aircraft’s electronic warfare suite. However, the same sources stated that the Rafale, the Mirage, and the MiG were almost certainly shot down as a result of a violation of the Rules of Engagement (ROE) that had long been observed between the IAF and the Pakistan Air Force (PAF). Both forces had been adhering to these restrictions until the night of May 7.

The ROE called for neither side to target and fire on the other nation’s aircraft as long as they stayed on their side of the line of control. The decision by Pakistan to fire on and shoot down the IAF aircraft while still in Indian airspace was a violation of that “gentlemen’s agreement.”

Hypersonic missiles aren't for sale.  Did France or US will sell Hypersonic Missiles to anyone?

But they are okay selling 5th or 4.5 gen jets to random countries.

Pakistan can't mass produce the ones they have got.. how will they get these advanced ones?

5th gen jets without ToT or capability to make jet engines is like a fancy export item at best.  And Chinese only sell their domestic homegrown engine variants to Pak which they have reverse engineered from Russian aL 31s series.

Helps them get a real time exposure through them.

I think this is what the CDS meant by tactical mistakes on May 7th.

Lessons learnt here

CDS mentioned jets were down.

Not sure if it they were destroyed or couldn’t fly due to these missiles in place.

Also, whatever defenses Pak had on 7th May was destroyed on next 2 days..when India just took out their AD and make them naked and defenseless.

From all what has happened in the last 30 odd days, the biggest low is the funding Pak got after ceasefire. The amount cash pouring in Pak is doing everything to nullify our deterrence.

Which is why we need to distance from America and look at them on the same level as any other country. Make sure that we never buy any Lockheed Martin products ever.

Wonder why. No one opposed the funding (Including France UK ) .

Sometimes news gets lost in fog of War. Here is what I did hear during the war.

1. Skardu Airbase was hit. But later it was not mentioned.

2. On the day of ceasefire, on some news channel I heard US talking about dirty bomb falling into hand of terrorists.

3. Wang Yi telling  Doval over the phone that Soreignity and Sanctity of Pakistan must be maintained.

So, it is kind of clear that India used Air to Surface missiles on May 7th and might have lost  a few jets because they didn't engage with PAF and got shot down, even though IAF didn't cross the IB. On May 10th, we used surface to surface missiles as a tactical change to take out their mililary targets.

Engaging PAF would officially mean conflict. Hence strict adherence to hitting terror camps only albeit losing hardware in that cause.

I'm OK with this measured approach to be honest, just not OK with our narrative game.

Europe will always favour America in grand scheme of things even if they don't like Trump.

Why is Skardu air base so important here btw?

If you call Shahbaz  and Sarghoda a American airbase in Pakistan then  Skardu is Chinese airbase. We antagonised both in just a matter of 8 hours.

Point is, Pakistan is already sold and we were actually hitting US and Chinese assets simultaneously

Skardu is effectively a Chinese airbase with Chinese forces. Now you see why we claimed little.

Seeing so many astrologers and geopolitical experts saying some sh*t will go down in September.

Pak will likely try to some stuff supported by US + Orange man who wants to punish India and Modi who seem to have hurt his ego.

Just before winter sets in ... Would be a optimal window for every party involved.

^ Think Western Media is intentionally lieing on another front which is seriously dangerous. Russian nuclear assets have been hit by NATO/MI6/CIA and it’s being portrayed as great achievement of Ukraine instead talking on risk and potential fall of the action. Something big is coming unless Russian now get a walkover in Ukraine. Putin is not going to delay retaliation for over a month. Armageddon button has been already pushed by CIA.

They are baiting him to act stupid.. he would be smart to learn from India and go for precision strikes on critical Ukrainian military assets and infrastructure...  They have much superior Ballistic as well subsonic missile program..

Russians military establishment has been pretty dumb from the beginning in this conflict.

Currently Orange man's three main targets are Russia Iran and India.   I think Iran would be stupid to fall eventually.
