As expected Americans arming Paxtan through NATO its allies.  Bolstering  AD systems.

The positives here can be that this move will not sit well with China, as it indicates that their air defence is not reliable.

HQ-9 probably had limited range as per experts that was supplied to Pak.  I

HQ-19 with much longer range on the other hand is supposed to be a Patriot copy with some advancements.  Chinese have layered AD units on their Eastern front for themselves.  Besides multiple S400 units.

Pakistanis are looking to diversify perhaps.  They don't want to put all their eggs in Chinese basket

There are reports of HQ-19 being on the table as well.

Unverified Chee News reporting that R37M BVR Missiles have been offered up by Russians to India.

If true than it should be no brainer to buy them & they are compatible af with our MKIs.

R37M BVR has been one of the successful ones in Ukraine war.

AstraMK3 is at least 3 years away and IAF is badly in need of Extended BVR Missiles.

As per experts PAF managed to get extended PL15 versions from Chinese just before Op Sindoor.  They likely used J10c equipped with extended PL15 BVR Missiles.

Meteor wasn't used in Op Sindoor.. I saw most experts saying either French have Delayed their acquisition or maybe IAF didn't had them in operational use (yet)

Either way R37M mogs Meteor in every metric... Barring Maneuverability.

R37 has extremely longer Range around 400 KM.. and Hypersonic Mach 6 speeds.

DRDO chief mentioned about new Pinaka and Rudra-4 missile systems in development while talking to India Today.

Good that govt is pumping more money to defence sector. We need our Indigenous Lockheed Martin's or Sukhoi's

Hear this about meteor too, but don’t know what is true, until someone from IAF clarifies, which is not going to happen for a few years until the dust settles. But if true, it’s means it was another criminal mistake by military leadership. Got outranged by a beggar state in 2019 and had 6 yrs to fix it, but didn’t?

if true heads must roll, but nothing ever happens to the pencil pushers.

Yeah BVR capability is critical in this day and age.  PAF surprised us in 2019 and this led to Indigenous Astra program being pushed further.

MoD Babus need danda from time to time.  As you said they are bunch of pencil pushers.

Saw a Shishir Jha  report yesterday that GoI has instructed acquiring and to replenish our BVRAAM stocks.  It's on priority basis.

I seriously hope we managed to get hold of R37M in the meantime.

Astra MK3 (Gandiva) is still 3-4 years away going by timeline and even that's a stretch considering everything.

Meteor's status is still not known & Its range is limited as well.

Whatever weapons we must buy, it's important not to forget that wars are won on strategy.

Russia's S400 flopped against small Ukrainian drones while it was effective for India since the S400 was only used against Fatah ballistic missiles, while the cost effective L70 was used against a swarm of tiny drones and the Akash teer against bigger drones such as YIHA III.

So it's not just about what weapons do you have, but how do you make the best use of what you have.

India has inducted warship to Navy, plus they're also spending quite a lot in the bolstering of Armed forces.

Seems, something is cooking. Soon, we may see another kinetic action at the borders.

Warship design and manufacturing takes a long time....additional spending is to replenish ammunition missiles etc...honeslty we need to focus on radars, fifth gen aircrafts, AWACS, ew and network connections for Air force as well as building squadron strength

Yeah, but govt is pumping additional funds for defense, to create extra buffer for the arms.
It gives me a hint that probably a big war is around the corner. US has already sacrified Ukraine for their ulterior motives, Taiwan seems to be the next battle ground. Phillipines, Vietnam are resisting China's advancement. North Korea is joining hands with Russia and threatening South Korea and Japan.
One miscalculation and the entire region will explode to flames.

All of it takes a long while... Especially Naval assets.   Army modernization is happening slowly but still it is happening.  By 2028 most of these inductions will put us in good stead.

Real struggle is in IAF.  Lacking in AEW&C's  BVR Missiles are most pressing concerns.  Besides obvious depleting squadrons.

A bhikhari Nation like Pakistan operates sophisticated 8/9 AWACS systems..
