Jadeja and possibly Reddy should come in before him as batting is going to be their main role in the side especially with early English summer start. Pant has a full time keeper role and lof of the issues in the indian setup have been because of lack of role clarity with him when he comes in too early to start blocking and has to rebuild after an early order collapse. Gollum Posted May 24, 2025 Posted May 24, 2025 Pant subordinate to Gill. In which world? So unfair. Pretty sure omission of Sarfaraz/Iyer is GG's call, if you go by past reports he doesn't like those two guys. raki05 and Lord 2
SandeepMotta Posted May 24, 2025 Posted May 24, 2025 NKR shouldn't be considered an all rounder. His bowling isn't good enough and his batting is downhill since the century.

Bigg Brother Posted May 24, 2025 Posted May 24, 2025 Sarfaraz omitted without single chance given in Australia. Didn't he contribute in England series win and score century in whitewash series against NZ?
lemsip Posted May 24, 2025 Posted May 24, 2025 (edited) Reasonable team though I can see Gill struggling in England and being no different to Kohli in terms of batting performance. He averages 35 after 32 tests with zero hundreds just 2 50s outside Asia after a pretty extended run. Rahul has similarly mediocre stats. i have a feeling it is the new guys who will have to carry the batting load. Hopefully they prove me wrong but so far the number don't tell a great story Edited May 24, 2025 by lemsip

The guy has done everything asked of him, performed in the chances he got and still keeps getting dumped on
Bigg Brother Posted May 24, 2025 Posted May 24, 2025 Shardul will be bullied by Root and Brooks. Lone Wolf and cowboysfan 2

In some conditions he is likely to find in England he may prove effective but they already have NKR for that purpose
Gollum Posted May 24, 2025 Posted May 24, 2025 Sarfu was good against Eng, scored our only 100 in the NZ whitewash. Lost 10 kgs for this tour. Dedicated red ball player in domestic. Still dropped? nevada, Lord, Manucrick and 3 others 1 5

If he scores a couple of hundreds there may be a way back into the side for him as it is pretty much a guarantee that the new batting order will struggle on this tour with not a single played averaging even 45.

We'll get decent tracks because that is bazball template, and no Anderson-Broad. Back Jaiswal to get a couple of big 100s.

It was between Karan and Khan I guess, I can understand why they went for Karan but it's harsh on Sarfaraz. It's good he's in the A team hope he gets big scores

Tbf to Shardul he does have that knack... and had a great FC season and we need a pace bowling AR

He had a rib injury.m. Karun Nair his replacement had an ok season in First division county for Northamptonshire. Even Sai Sudarshan and Arshdeep singh has played first division county in last year. Fyi Pujara made heaps of runs in county playing for sussex but sussex was in second division.
