Indian players in County Cricket 2025

I noticed that there isn't a thread for this yet, so thought of creating one. We have multiple players playing in County this year.

 

Players in County:

Yuzvendra Chahal - Northamptonshire

Jaydev unadkat - Sussex (From Sep 8th)

Ruturaj Gaikwad - Yorkshire

Tilak Varma - Hampshire

Ishan Kishen - Nottinghamshire (Just 2 championship games)

It was a good for Indian batters yesterday. Tilak Varma on his debut is 98 no against Essex and Ishan Kishan scored a brilliant 87 of 98 balls against Yorkshire. The rest haven't started yet.

Yeah surprised that no bowlers are in county cricket. I would rather have some young bowlers playing county cricket. Someone on like Anshul Kamboj playing a season would be great. It will be great for a young bowler to bowl lots of overs in a professional setup.

Tilak is a good batsman, should been on England tour, he averages over 50 in fc, a better option than Sai S.

After IPL Indian players want to take it easy till Ranji starts.. why would they actually play County for majority of the summer. Its time for their post IPL vacations.

 

Duleep Trophy starts end of Aug, IPL finished in early June. That means there's potentially 10/12 weeks available for County.. Kishan is playing 2 matches.. rather pointless

For bowlers it will be tricky having to manage workload across all formats...

Both Ishan Kishen and Tilak Varma playing in Division 1 in county cricket are doing very well. Tilak with a 100 and 50 in the two innings he has batted so far and is 20 no in his third innings. Ishan has scored back to back fifties. I feel that Tilak Varma needs to be in the Test team. He has a good FC record as well and has shown he can do well in English conditions. I understand the need to back Karun Nair but again I feel we should give chances to players who have most chances of success. Ishan Kishen also needs to be backed as I still remember that innings he played against Pakistan in Asia cup when India were 66/4. He and Hardik got India to a competitive total on a tough pitch.

Bazball pitches not working for Zaleel. In ipl despite Csks disastrous season he was one of their brighy spots with the new ball.
