Kushal from carvaka podcast mentioned India gets zero money from Asia Cup. Apparently proceeds go for developing cricket in Asia. This tournament makes zero sense unless India plans to forfeit any game against Pakistan and see if they can win it with a handicap.

Unless extenuating circumstances like war etc exist, GoI can only give advisories/directives to the BCCI. Fatwa equivalent of the GoI.
 

The thing is, we are in a state of war as Op Sindoor hasn’t concluded yet. So GoI should be able to take a call here.

Boycotting cricket matches doesn't mean much and in how many places we can avoid them in sport. We will face their players in 20 sports in Asian Games next year, CWG games, Olympics. 

What if they are in same group in Asian Games in Cricket, Hockey ? Will we boycott those ?

PS : Don't like deliberately putting Ind Pak in same group. I find that pathetic.

 

Maybe for a year, India can ban playing Pak because the mood of the people is against all things about Pakistan. After a year, when the next Rajamouli or Saiyaara 2 movie gets released and people forget all about Pakistan, they can lift the ban

 

There is no argument about playing Pak in international events like Olympics or World Squash meet etc ., which is inevitable . But India can pull out of hosting events with Pak like Asian Hockey or Asia Cup which has no bearing on India’s fortunes in sports. What is being in ACC get anything to BCI other than a few million $s worth of TV revenue?

@Lone Wolf  This is related to UAE . Having the event in UAE will get them revenue in terms of hosting, ticket sales, tourism and also benefits UAE cricket. Govt has some quid-pro-quo with these countries , UAE let India build a swami Narayan temple in UAE and oil and trade deals, not forgetting giving highest civilian award to topG. Hence, all this posturing. This tournament is bound to happen.
