Jadeja bowls 20 overs per innings at test level. Jadeja and SUndar have played 10 matches together Jadeja 10 matches 31 wickets 29.67 average 53.5 strike rate Sundar 10 matches 27 wickets 26.33 average 46.8 strike rate Clearly Jadeja is over-used in comparison with Sundar purely for his experience. There is no absolutely no evidence current Jadeja is better than Current Sundar. I think he would have had much better numbers were he given more overs. Jadeja is now , especially overseas, more of a batting AR. His batting is his stronger suite maybe even at home ! Gill feels compelled to bowl him even when they are better options - as we saw when he bowled more than and ahead of Sundar in England. This is because of his seniority I guess. Can't drop Jadeja but have to recognise his bowling is a fading force. He's given yeoman service for what 15 years now so it's fair enough his bowling has lost some zip. Gollum and rollingstoned 2

Jadeja walks into the team as a frontline batsman, one of the best MO batsmen in world cricket post pandemic. His bowling is bonus, lost zip with age. But can do the job if used as 2nd or 3rd spinner instead of main one. Lord and Sooda 1 1
putrevus Posted October 19, 2025 Posted October 19, 2025 Why are they force feeding Sundar in whiteball cricket. He is just not good enough , he cannot take wickets nor can he use long handle. Let him improve his redball bowling and batting, he has his best potential there. Gollum and tapandrun 2

I will say it right now,he is not a good white ball cricketer. He doesnt hit the ball like Axar and also he doesnt pick wickets, playing him instead of Kuldeep is a fireable offense. tapandrun, Lord, Ultimate_Game and 1 other 1 3

Exactly. He has no business of playing India in whiteball cricket. He could not hit ball beyond infield today. tapandrun 1

putrevus Posted October 19, 2025 Posted October 19, 2025 This was the time to invest time on guy like Parag and kick out this guy Sundar out of the whiteball cricket. When will he get his chance to prove himself. tapandrun 1

Batting all rounder is always better any day. Maxwell is not exactly a bowling wizard. He thinks on the feet and bowls something Paragh and Abhishek can easily work on. Heck even Tilak can do unlike Kohli who couldn't bowl to save his life. tapandrun 1

GG has extremely strong likes and dislikes, which is the most undesirable quality in a coach, and Gill seems like a yes man. Need an independent minded, strong selector to balance out things, but there we have Agarkar Lord, Ultimate_Game and cowboysfan 1 2

He once said Jaiwal should play all formats and now jiswal is just 1 format player. he has made both test and odi teams like a project team. Even in tests not sure where Sundar fits-in? teams needs to take 20 wkts and now there is a situation where Jadeja is degrading as bowler and Sundar is also not like who can take wkts, so how is the team going to get 20 wkts ??? Sundar does not have shots or power game to be in white-ball playing at 6/7/8.

There is no point in having an off-spinner in white-ball team, and then add the lack of sundar's power game to bat at 6/7/8. Its just a waste of position. Add a proper batter and ask them to bowl off-spin

Once Pandya's gone we don't have anyone to replace him. That's why want the "Impact Player" rule gone from the IPL as there's no incentive for teams to pick or bowl all-rounders and develop their games. That's why likes of Nitish, Abhishek, Parag, Rinku hardly bowl in IPL. Would be good to develop some all-rounders, especially pace ones.
