Gollum Posted October 21 Posted October 21 (edited) One of the most heartbreaking news in recent times. US GM, Danny Naroditsky, great player, even better commentator and coach, one of the gentlest souls you can find (check his behavior in the game against Ivanchuk last year in world rapid and blitz). Learnt so much from his videos, so patient and instructional. Kramnik (and other losers like Nepo, Dubov) led a relentless campaign against him, accusing him of cheating in online chess, all those allegations were bogus. Despite chess.com algorithms finding nothing suspicious in his play, these bastards didn't relent. That started taking a toll on his mental state and you could see that in his latest videos, in fact has been the case the last one year. Based on GM Bortnyk's words, his close friend, and the first person to arrive at his house post his death, looks like he took his own life. Another gentleman GM, David Navara (Czech) also talked about having suicidal thoughts because of Kramnik. Kramnik should be stripped off his GM title, world championship title, shunned by the chess world....and even others like Nepo should face consequences for their witch hunts. They have been doing the same to Indian kids (Nihal's reaction is so on point), Faustino Oro, some of the young Turkish/Uzbek prodigies. Even Hans was victim of this witch hunt but there led by others (Nepo is a comnmon name everywhere). Edited October 21 by Gollum randomGuy, G_B_, Lord and 1 other 4
Gollum Posted October 21 Author Posted October 21 Just 29, and already accomplished so much. GM, Stanford grad, author at age 14, world class coach and commentator, columnist in New York Times. On top of that, a wonderful human being as all his colleagues and students are attesting to right now. Meanwhile Kramnik is unhinged on X, taunting the dead man. Pure evil.
rangeelaraja Posted October 21 Posted October 21 RIP GM Danya. One of the very few gentleman in the great game of chess. Sadly chess has too many "great" players who are cruel and heartless bullies. Gollum 1
rangeelaraja Posted October 21 Posted October 21 Nihal, himself a victim of Kramnik's allegations showing great support. Terrible tragedy. Kramnik must face a blanket ban from all chess platforms. Gollum 1
Vickydev Posted October 21 Posted October 21 Wait what?! I havent been following chess as closely this year.. this is so sad and sudden. I was rooting for him at the World Rapid and Blitz event last year when he was in medal contention with the pros until the last round. He is such a good educator on Chess, we lost a great person. Gut wrenching Gollum 1
Vickydev Posted October 21 Posted October 21 Its so rare to have someone so good be so humble. The guy was top 3 in speed chess alongside Carlsen and Nakamura, and yet would respond to normies like a regular person. What did they do to him?! The world is so full of a##holes Gollum 1

Just that he is more polished and subtle, and knows the classic Russian way of deflection, diversion, non-denial denial. He works behind the scenes, and even involves arbiters, FIDE officials to cause mental agony to his opponents. Did that with Gukesh, Nakamura before previous candidates....and against Danya as well for a long time. These kind of people whould face boycott from the chess world. As deranged as Bobby Fischer was, even he was never responsible for someone's death, the way Kramnik and co. are. Edited October 21 by Gollum

All players who interacted with him in some manner, all his colleagues, his students, fans, everyone has so many heartwarming anecdotes about DN the person. This should be a turning point in the chess community. All these bullies who lead withchunts and play with emotions of even kids, their time is up. Some people were giving benefit of doubt for far too long because of the stature of the accusers, henceforth no more respect shall be given. Evil will be called out, no compromise or beating around the bush. Vickydev 1
Gollum Posted October 21 Author Posted October 21 Saddest part is, Kramnik was Danya's idol growing up.
randomGuy Posted October 21 Posted October 21 Om Shanti. He came across as empathetic respectful person which is the most thing, besides being good looking, very talented with chess or with accents. Among World's top 5-10 online speed chess players.... In this world, having a sense of perspective is a must.... Chess, false cheating allegations, career, money etc. come far far below health and peace of mind. Lord and Gollum 2
MK55 Posted October 24 Posted October 24 (edited) I follow chess minimally and don’t play chess in any way at all. But I remember visiting the live games at the world rapid b blitz last December. He was one of the few who came before the match to talk with the spectators / his YouTube followers. Seemed genuinely good and humble. He was asking how they were doing too iirc. But I know that the event stressed him a lot and so in later rounds he probably was more drilled down into the games but still.. Edited October 24 by MK55 Gollum 1
kepler37b Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Being a high IQ person is NOT easy. Their over-working brain, when coupled with anxiety and fear, drives towards self harm. A good life beyond the chess board is necessary, especially in the sun. For example, the current world no.1 is a decent football player. Om Shanti!!!

Also a Stanford grad in history, author, columnist, teacher, commentator, true all rounder.
Gollum Posted October 27 Author Posted October 27 (edited) His last stream. You can see he is so mentally troubled because of Kramnik's campaign. He used to be so cheerful and fun before Kramnik made him his victim. @Mariyam, you followed him? Edited October 27 by Gollum Mariyam 1

Hans Niemann had a really tough skin to get over the campaign against him. Everyone took Carlsen's side back then (who btw had no proof, just resentment because he lost and his unbeaten streak got over), and it was vicious slandering, the butt plug saga, chess.com making an example out of him, some top GMs refusing to play him and him being sidelined from events....and Hans was just a teenager back then. He may not be the most pleasant person to be around, but maybe that hostile environment made him like that. Edited October 27 by Gollum Mariyam and randomGuy 1 1
Mariyam Posted October 27 Posted October 27 @Gollum Remember seeing a few of his streams. Naroditsky and Sereiwan the great chess story tellers. Heard him light heartedly mimic personalities from the chess world. Has the police department at Charlotte come up with anything? A presser maybe? Gollum 1

Yup, great story teller, very charismatic. 1 hour ago, Mariyam said: Has the police department at Charlotte come up with anything? A presser maybe? Haven't read anything about that. Just an elitist on steroids. He's like those 90 year old Aussie/British dadajis who only praise likes of Bradman and Trumper but consider Sachin to be a schoolboy cricketer. 8 hours ago, Gollum said: Hans Niemann had a really tough skin to get over the campaign against him. And he's one person I won't be messing with if met in real life haha. Must start following chess seriously, looks very interesting.
