This is the issue with a stubborn coach who has not done the grind in domestic cricket, found success in IPL as main guy among a complement of coaches - main credit to Pandit - and has too many left field ideas. Baz is similar.

I don't think they have any depth there either. It is again top heavy team.

People are expecting too much for t20 next year. I would be suprised if they qualify for finals.Putting too much stock on one player in Abhishek.

 

They is going to be get lot of dew and I don't see any bowlers who are capable of overcoming the dew including Bumrah.

If I were given the selection reins, I would maximize hitting potential / entertainment value. Load the team with hitters and a few bowlers and let them have at it.

I didn't care about anything except what I want to see (See disclaimer "If I was to be handed the reins.")

 

Pure entertainment value. My team will either win by 200 or flame out with nothing to show. But they will never be boring. No anchors. No wrist-rolling 4-hitters. Absolute pyjama entertainment.

Tilak is good too. Dew will affect all teams. Our batting is stronger if team is picked on merit

SA is bowling Ferreira as off-spinner when 2 LH batter are in, he is not a specialist off-spinner he is more like a some1 who can keep wkts.

He has nothing to offer in any form of whiteball cricket.    Useless darter whose ball doesn't spin even one millimeter on most pitches.  And an avg batter with limited range of malnourished shots.  Though, in tests, he could be an option especially in SENA.

They are in for their hitting and fielding. Bowling is bonus.

 

Maybe Rinku can come in for Parag but he has shown weakness vs spin.

Even at bbl level only proper batters are bowling off-spin and its a punt

Injured Sundar is being replaced by Badhoni.

What kind of replacement is this not an upgrade on sundar, sundar himself is not that good.

 

Looks like they are locking Sundar for white-ball and Badhoni is just a place holder , now they are just randomly picking any player. so that they do not challenge the player they want in the team..

Vipraj could have been a good addition, parag could have been a better replacement,
