So injustice will be done to Sanju in Odis now :giggle:, I don’t think Gill is that petty though and Samson seems like a 0 conflict guy.

Even I would be surprised if Gill has done it however if Gill has indeed done it then I can't see him leading India. Gambhir + Agarkar are going to make sure he is out.

KL Rahul- 2021 WT20, 2022 WT20, 2023 WC, 2019 semifinal  most of the tournaments he was one of the culprits. Never won an IPL.

finally won CT in 2025.

Samson-  2 WT20 wins- 100% strike rate. One on the bench and one as player.

on the panauti factor itself is- Samson it is.

Samson's odi career will depend on  Rohit-kohli's form as he is primarily a top order player rather than a finisher , the kind of pitches we anticipate for 2027 odi world cup and KL's glove work

He has done a decent job as a middle order bat as well in ODIs

Rohit didn't come i think. SO on behalf he got .

Yes Rohit didn't come  but giving him the tag like this is crazy Gill is a BCCI favorite and they’re trying to turn him into the new Kohli The difference is that Kohli became a star on his own whereas the BCCI is pushing way too hard to make Gill the next big thing

Actually no matter how we loose at home,BCCI rates red ball cricket bit higher

Him being red ball captain does make one believe BCCI treats him that way maybe they tried to put him infront as Kohli but he failed big time there and shouldn't be in their plans for that specific format

But Gill knows he is not Kohli nor he willbe pampered like him,he needs to buckle up in odis and red ball soon

I'll only believe it when Sanju is able to take on Harshal "slower one" Patel :agree:

Watching some of the  insane videos from this insane bunch. over the last 2 years.  Watching South African series. Damn. what hitting by samson and Tilak. Some of the shots Sanju plays there are ridiculous.  How the heck  they chose to bring GIll over Sanju. Idiots.

Our T20 team improved so much after we let the oldies go. The ceiling for that team was 180 on a good day and now we manage 200 on average and 250+ on a good day.

Wonder where're the geniuses who kept on saying that we don't have talent and we'll struggle if we don't go with seniors and that they were keeping us afloat by simply taking us to the knockouts.

We wouldn't have gone decade without an ICC tourney if we had gone with deserving performers instead of sticking with seniors for more than a decade. We trusted youngsters twice - in 2020-21 BGT and now this WT20 and we won both! The BGT series win in Aus should've been the eye opener for selectors but as usual they preferred to keep the star culture alive instead of backing youngsters and winning with them. The result was failures in 2021 WT20, 2022 WT20 and the 2024 BGT where the two "seniors" were the reason we lost the series when youngsters did their best to keep us afloat.

Yes. If only we pick players based on merit we will be unstoppable. Even in Tests.

We carried middle order of Pujara, Rahane and Kohli forever where our lower order and bowlers had to carry the load. Kohli by himself was carried for nearly 6 years! And it was bowlers who were blamed despite him being the worst no. 4 across all teams for that period. If we had meritocracy the way Aussies had, we would've already won in SA by now and not drawn in Eng or lost BGT in Aus.

We're doing the same thing in ODIs with oldies not letting it go and we're stuck with the seniors as usual. We're gonna lose the next ODI WC thanks to the same oldies which were never able to take us across the line for nearly decade and a half. And that despite having the world's best bowler in the world on their side! And Bumrah and Shami had to take the blame despite the seniors failing as usual in knockouts. I don't expect things to change in 2027 as along with the same seniors we have softie Gill as well.

This is why i don't get a good vibe about 2027 world cup. By now we should have had a settled side with Jaiswal being a lynch pin of the side. Rohit sharma would score like 30 in 20 balls and get out . Total liability on the field.

If we go with the current ODI team our ceiling is semi-final and most probably will crash out before that. Rohit can't even last till PP overs most of the time, Gill is a softie as we've seen and Kohli won't be able to be the difference in an ODI tourney. Then we have Jadeja who should've been kicked out of LOI teams a decade ago and will be useless in SA.

We've right-handed batting order and they'll struggle as they usually do. They need to add a couple of lefties in the top order (Jaiswal and one of Sai or Tilak) but that would mean doing away with oldies and we all know it won't happen. So we need to wait the oldies out and poor Bumrah will finish his career without an ODI world cup thanks to the seniors who dragged the team down for 2 decades :((

To cap it off perennial world cup flop Kela.   From an unselfish T20 unit to selfish ODI unit.  Hardik will sure miss a game or two with his fitness. No Shami. This is going to be a nightmare i think

Unless they take some hard decisions, we'll struggle. A batting lineup full of right-handers and too many seniors isn't gonna win you the tourney. The ceiling for this lineup is scoring 280-300 when we should be looking at targeting 340-350. It's gonna fall on our bowlers to raise their games as they've always done in the past.

We need some fresh blood and need to add Jaiswal and Tilak or Sai in the mix along with kicking out Jadeja. If we don't do this, we're done.
