Tillu Posted January 18 Posted January 18 A nail biting match yesterday. Vihann Malhotra who performed poorly with the bat redeemed himself taking 4 key wickets when it all looked like BD win would be an after thought. After 1st innings I thought we would easily win due to the large ground with a slow outfield and difficult conditions to bat but the pitch eased out in the 2nd innings due to rain. A great match overall. rollingstoned 1
vvvslaxman Posted January 18 Author Posted January 18 Our bowling was pathetic. Bangla boys got out to rank full tosses. LUckily it went to fielders. tapandrun 1
Strangering Posted January 18 Posted January 18 There is something promising about this U-19 USA team. This is the first mostly home grown squad that USA has put up. Of course, these are kids of expats. They won't win a lot in this tournament but the future looks exciting.

tapandrun Posted January 18 Posted January 18 (edited) Saw some highlights WI team has one LA wrist spinner and a leg-spinner, Pak too has a LA wrist spinner and a leg-spinner + Ali Raza, SA has some tall pacers, Eng too some tall pacers, Aus bowlers does not look that quick compared to previous wc. bd had the match under control of change of condition after the halt the equation change to 6 or more runs per over where bd batters messed-up got themselves under pressure , but good fielding and catching by Ind side after the halt, made sure there were no easy run. Vaibhav and Kundu though not able to get to tons but played measured innings. Edited January 18 by tapandrun

Lone Wolf Posted January 19 Posted January 19 India needs to play a leg spinner. Our bowling simply lacks any teeth.. barring Deepesh. Got lucky against BD. On sheer skill they could have beaten us.

Bd has 2-3 good batters rest were not up there hence once the pressure was mounted because of dls changed conditions they were unable to keep-up and were not able to hit out full-tosses, plus Ind pulled up the fielding too after the rain-halt.
tapandrun Posted January 19 Posted January 19 SA fast bowling looks good, WI has a LA wrist spinner and Legspinner, Eng has some decent pace bowlers, Aus bowling is not good as last time. Pak bowling looks v.good and got every area covered, a LA and a RH wrist spinner, all 3 pacers bowls at decent pace for the group, think Raza is 140+ kmph. Scottish top-order batters were backing off while facing the pak pacers.
nitinbwj Posted January 21 Posted January 21 What kind of tatti pitches has Ind played. Eng are playing on a paradise. 200 up in 24 overs. They will end up with 450

nitinbwj Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Pak is the best bowling side. Eng has the best batting. What do we have ?
raki05 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 (edited) Iyer should have played ahead of kishan. Edited January 21 by raki05

Ind is best batting side in this u19 wc with best depth not relying on 1-2 batter. Bowling is average to ordinary. Apart from that U19 asa cup final Ind has won every series they played be it Aus or Eng. And that final game too Ind bowling was v.v.flat , Pak score 350 runs and its not possible to chase such scores in age grp.
vvvslaxman Posted January 23 Author Posted January 23 (edited) India is Group B. Right now they are at B1 India B1 4 points BD B2 for now 3 points NZ B3 (both washed out) 2 points USA B4 1 point Pakistan C2 INdia will face Pakistan in the next round as it will be B1 vs C2. If India finishes second doesn't even have to play Pakistan. But too bad we can't finish B2 as we are far ahead. Even with loss to NZ we will finish at the top Edited January 23 by vvvslaxman

If we win vs NZ today then in super six we need to win a single match vs Zim or Pak to qualify for semis. vvvslaxman 1
vvvslaxman Posted January 24 Author Posted January 24 NZ third match will also be washed out? lol 3 matches 3 wash out means 3 points. THey will be tied with Bangladesh. How will they even calculate NRR if NZ never played a single game.
