He'll always have more attributes than someone like Foulkes to fall back on even if he isn't a great bowler himself. Anyway NZ should not play this combination. They need Santner coming in at #8 and play another hitter in there somewhere.

Stan AF Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I'm not worried about the Aussie T20 side. I never have . SA and England are more of a challenge than them. Sgattick10 1

Brute force in needed at itnl level in t20s. Most of the times his entry points were where Ind was in a spot but there are not many games where he played bad shot and still he has 140 sr. Is a v.good t20i batter --no. But he has shown brains and brute force and knows how to play with the limitations he has.
Stan AF Posted January 23 Posted January 23 That being said, I'd take a loss in this series if it wises up our management and the team ahead of the WC. I'd take the bad performances here and now.

putrevus Posted January 23 Posted January 23 There will be a match when bowlers might have to defend a small total. Indian bowlers have to handle pressure in those matches. Sgattick10 1

Stan AF Posted January 23 Posted January 23 We beat their side 3-1 in their backyard. 9 minutes ago, Gollum said: This Aussie T20 side is different. They seem to have finally figured out this format.
Frustrated Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Except the WT20 2021 (which Aus won), Aus hv performed like Minnows in this format everytime.

Frustrated Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Eng won the WT20 2022. Since then, their performance in whiteball cricket has been at par with Minnows. So, I think the biggest threat to us are NZ & SA.
Stan AF Posted January 23 Posted January 23 4 minutes ago, Gollum said: We also beat Aussies just before 23 WC. We have always beaten them in T20 WCs. Out T20 WC record is better. It is 4-2 against them.
Stan AF Posted January 23 Posted January 23 The 2010 and the 2012 losses under Dhoni were a mucked up side. It's difficult for Aussies to defeat a full strength indian side.
Suhaan Posted January 23 Posted January 23 (edited) 54 minutes ago, Nikhil_cric said: Somehow I think SA will struggle this time - Rickleton, Stubbs these guys don't have great T20I records. And I don't rate Maphaka that highly - not polished enough. They shouldn't have left Baartman out Stubbs,I thought he wasn't there, was he added later? Edited January 23 by Suhaan

I will always take that loss as humiliation purely on cricketing perspective,we should have pasted that Aus side on any other surface or they played their best game vs the two best sides of the tourney 2003 CWC we had no business beating that modern GOAT odi side ,accepted That was a major tactical failure,'The Nov 19 agony'
