Gollum Posted February 1 Posted February 1 So how should we go about it? For India games, we should have separate threads for each match, including against USA, Namibia. Do we want a thread for the Indo-Pak game? I am not in favor of that but let the will of the majority prevail. What about other games? Do we really need a separate thread for Nepal vs Italy or Canada vs UAE? Or have one general thread to discuss all other games and separate threads only from Super 8s onwards. Or just the high profile games in group stage, we can have separate threads, like Aus vs Lanka, Eng vs WI, RSA vs NZ, NZ vs Afg, Afg vs RSA. Group D is exciting with RSA, NZ, Afg, group of death.
Gollum Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 Also @Lord @Austin 3:!6 @Trichromatic @G_B_ , we shouldn't allow any one member to open all India match threads. 2-3 is fine especially lucky ones like @IndianRenegade @Norman but not all. And haan, Super 8s onwards, let us take into factor the track record of thread starters, this may be our last ICC trophy title shot for some time Also let us assign these threads beforehand. Anybody else found opening match thread unannounced shouldn't be allowed to do so. And ask folks to put litlle bit effort in their threads, and open them a day before so that it sees more activity and hype/buzz. Just my two cents. This may be our only good cricket memory this year, very little international cricket after this for rest of the year and even there, very tough assignments like the NZ tour where we will mostly get blanked.

Only thing I am looking for is decent opening post and not one liners. So who wants which thread? Gollum 1

deepdynamo Posted February 1 Posted February 1 One mega thread for all non India matches. ( First round) Seperate threads for all NON India matches ( Super 8 onwards) Seperate thread for all India matches. Trichromatic and Gollum 1 1

Let others chip in, then we will make a final decision and stick to that. Also we can have a separate mega thread to discuss news related to the WC, injuries, replacements, podcast links etc. Edited February 1 by Gollum
Gollum Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 (edited) Often what happens in these ICC events is 2-3 guys make their own match threads and then we have to merge them later on. This time, at least for India's matches and all Super 8 (and onwards) matches. let us avoid the confusion. And create the match threads in advance, at least on the morning of the match so that there is some activity and buildup. Edited February 1 by Gollum

Gollum Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 (edited) This T20I squad has got us all excited. After a long time, we have such an entertaining first XI in any format. Trendsetting players, fearless, so much of flair and panache, 1 to 11. As @Trichromatic said, no boring one-liner match threads. This team deserves to be hyped. Austin 3:!6 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Will Ind vs Pak game will still go ahead? Or they will pull out?
Nikhil_cric Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Why mega thread for non India matches? Let's make specific threads for important matches involving Top 8 sides at least

Gollum Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 So these 5 match threads. Aus vs SL Eng vs WI RSA vs NZ NZ vs Afg RSA vs Afg All India matches get separate threads, including against Namibia and USA Super 8s onwards, every match gets a match thread. One mega thread for 1st round low-profile matches involving UAE, Italy, Nepal types. Sure we may get an upset or 2 but mostly will be predictable affairs. Nikhil_cric 1

Gollum Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 Apart from Chepauk Super 8 game, I am willing to do the Group D match on Feb 14, NZ vs RSA, Ahmedabad.
Gollum Posted February 6 Author Posted February 6 Hope other posters chime in. @Lone Wolf @Nikhil_cric and me have expressed interest in opening some match threads. Both Nikhil and Akela Bhediya have expressed interest in SL vs Aus. @Trichromatic @Lord @Austin 3:!6 shall we get this moving? And what about India threads? Kal Ind ka opener hai, vs USA. We need to decide fast. Lord 1
