No Penalty or Sanction for BCB

 

It is agreed that no financial, sporting or administrative penalty will be imposed on Bangladesh Cricket Board in relation to the current matter.

 

It is acknowledged that BCB retains the right to approach the Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC), should it choose to do so. This right exists under current ICC regulations and remains intact.

 

Hosting of an ICC Event between 2028 and 2031

As part of this understanding, an agreement has been reached that Bangladesh will host an ICC event prior to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2031, subject to the usual ICC hosting processes, timelines and operational requirements.

Most of Bangladesh news sites only reported BCB and ICC meet and their demands.  No mention of PCB or their demand. Infact somewhere on Bangladeshi site I read that they told PCB to play the game , effectively BCB par bill mat phaado

After all the drama here is my take.

1. We wanted to skip Bangladeshi involvement in Word Cup .—> Done

2. We wanted pretext of Pakistan to skip the game and take sime ICC action against Pakistan —> Partially Done. Pakistan plays but ICC and other members can now ignore PCB request on hosting 

3.BCB to be sent mssg that they are better off without PCB. Don’t play the game with BCCI. —> Done

 

4. Insult due to No trophy from Naqvi to Surya insult and no handshake —> if I am to guess, It stays

They are already claiming victory because Naqvi ensured that the hybrid model is extended till 2031 and Pak don't have to travel to India for the 2031 WC.

Not that I care about Pak players traveling to India, but there isn't much clarity on what is agreed.

There is nothing about the hybrid model in the ICC press release plus the BCCI has not been involved in the conversations so far and such decisions cannot be made without their involvement. It's bogus.

BCCI red lines won't be crossed.

 

BCCI was not a party to this and ICC will not cross BCCI.
