vvvslaxman Posted February 16 Posted February 16 How do you like guys? I think fairly decent. Surprisingly CHennai has the least turn when everyone thought it would turn the most.
deathmonger Posted February 16 Posted February 16 So India's super 8 venues will be flatter. Hope this unlocks Tilak as well as Abhishek. Tilak has hit 25 exactly in all three matches and has been okay so far but we know he can destroy bowling.
jf1gp_1 Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I was surprised to see India Namibia matches hosted at Delhi and not Chennai which replicates match conditions with short travel time to colombo. nevada 1

Degree of spin is just one part of the equation. The two equally, or even more important factors are whether the pitch slows down as the match goes along. A pitch where the ball comes on to the bat even if it turns is much better than the pitch where there's turn but the ball doesn't hold up. Also whether dew comes into the picture and batting gets easier under the lights as the match goes along like in the Modi stadium. I wish they move the final away from Modi stadium as I don't see a way where the team batting first beats an equally strong team who's chasing on that batting beauty. Move it to Kolkatta or Chennai to make it even. Don't like Modi stadium or Wankhede due to dew becoming a major factor, with Modi stadium getting impacted much more than Mumbai. Or make the final a day match where it starts off at say 1.30 pm and is over by 5.30pm before dew can be a factor. Surely an ICC final deserves toss not to be such an important factor. That's why I liked 2024 WT20 as the matches were played during the day and the conditions remained the same throughout.

Barely had any attacking instinct last game, only looked for survival.
cowboysfan Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Indian pitches have been great, very unlike the pattas we have seen for most of the last 2 years but Lankan pitches as usual have been sub par for T20 and i hope we dont have to play there again.

I don't recall Chennai ever doing that. Or any Indian stadium for that matter. It is not a norm. Not even MCG. It is a massive effort.

NZ chased down 175 in 15 overs. Abhishek and Kishan must be looking to feast against Zimbabwe on this pitch. vvvslaxman 1

My brain was totaly confused as to why IND SL WC is being played in SENA. lol Edited February 17 by IndianRenegade
