deathmonger Posted March 9 Posted March 9 I always knew this day was coming. India is a cricket mad country of 1.4 billion+. That means India should have dominated all of cricket. Issue was India was a dirt poor country with most of the population barely surviving. After the economic reforms, as India kept getting richer bit by bit, the team also kept improving bit by bit. So I always knew this inflection point would come eventually. But it is still surreal to watch it live. The poorer countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan, SL, WI etc are no longer able to compete against India. SENA maybe can give competition for a decade due to being rich countries. But in 10-15 year's time India will basically be what USA is to basketball. And this golden age is not just restricted to cricket. A lot of amazing stuff is going to happen over the next 15 years. Space mission, bullet train, maybe the Olympics, even the arts will become better especially movies. I know a lot of Indians are "blackpillers" and believe that India can never improve but compare where India was in 2000 to now in just 25 years. Enjoy the Golden Age. @Gollum Manucrick, Laaloo, Gollum and 6 others 1 4 4
vvvslaxman Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Just need another Boom and Kuldeep has to become a mentally strong bowler that should lock his place.

Boom is a freak but a lot of good players will come. I expect a few Cummins/Rabada/Hazlewood level bowlers to come up over the next decade with a bit of batting ability as well. In batting, we are overflowing with riches with batsmen of the calibre of Jaiswal, Suryavanshi etc not even part of the squad.

Navi Mumbai/Thane will get a team as well (Noida/Gurgaon too). This is in line with Los Angeles, New York, London etc having multiple teams. Mariyam 1
Lord Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Golden age in white ball especially T20 Quite the opposite in Tests. But you can say we had that in 2014-2024

Kohli gen also had a tough 2011-2015 I expect India to go on a massive red ball run in a couple of years when the batsmen have matured a bit. Lord 1
IndianRenegade Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Nothing is permanent, if gill had played little above runner ball innings in his last series, we would have opened with Gill might have ended up with a below par score in one of our knock out games. transitions will happen like the Aussies are going through. But this is great period in our whiteball cricket, so let’s enjoy! Manucrick and New guy 2
Number Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Talent alone is not enough for what you are saying. For long term domination long term plans, tournament strategies and in-match tactics against specific opposition and players also have to be perfect along with execution. I will be happy if that happens.
