The wait is over! The Indian Premier League returns for its 19th season. With Royal Challengers Bengaluru entering as defending champions for the first time in history, the stakes have never been higher

 

Start Date: March 28, 2026

Opening Match: RCB vs SRH (@ M. Chinnaswamy Stadium)

Defending Champions: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)

@Manucrick Add some poll questions to make it engaging - Best team on paper, who will win Orange/purple cap etc.. And of course who will win wooden spoon

From fast bowling POV, I have few

interesting things which I will watch closely

 

1. Will Umran & Tyagi's get back their pace ? Both are in KKR so they can play games as KKR dont have many pacers.

 

2. Can Mayank sustain and play atleast 8-10 games..if he does. I am 100% sure he will get a ticket to Indian Team. He is 

 

3. Ashok Sharma...can he be the wildcard. GT has a lot fast bowlers but they dont have death bowlers. Ashok can bowl yorkers, is a good fielder and can use long handle.

 

Not sure if there is anyone else to look @express bowling, @Mosher, @rkt.india, @Suhaan, @Nikhil_cric

He reminds me of another Akash Madhwal or Basil Thampi.

So not much hopes for now. But yeah, if he does well then can be another candidate to watch for.

Maybe it's a dying hope. But I'm still looking to see something from Prince, Simarjeet, Gurnoor and Kuldeep Sen

 

Madhwal is very slightly built . These lads are stronger and more explosive. 

 

But let's see.

Gurnoor is a capable bowler..but st this moment seems more like a Test match bowler. Similar to Prasidh.

Simar & Kuldeep...well age isnt their side and they seem to have lost the bus.

Some international bowlers are missing with injuries and are not available but this is a good opportunity for uncapped Indian fast bowlers They should take this chance
