You get 24 balls. maximum 2 over spells or 3 over spells. You have to warm up and execute your good balls right from the start. Batsmen don't really have sighters anymore. So good bowling in 2014 is different from good bowling in 2026. Kartik tyagi really bowled well in one of the match, So did ARcher. But few edges here and there boom boom spell became expensive. Boult was bowling well in an era where batsmen were paying respect to new ball. Nowadays they don't even have sighters. If you look at the oldies they are still playing the same way making bowlers look good. express bowling 1

That just means there is no balance and things are lopsided All the sixes and fours will have meaning if they are tough to hit. Now everyone is doing it and only wickets are through bad shots. Quality of bowlers doesnt even matter anymore express bowling and cricspirit 2

Teams are targeting and achieving 80+ runs , there are multiple batters right now who hac get 20 or more runs over, by default batters are trying to hit 2 boundaries per over. So say if there was a bowler who bowled 2 overs for 16 runs or 3 overs for 24 runs that is like eco of 7-8 which is v.good , but then in their last 2 overs there is a potential of a 20 or more runs overs of not 20+ 18 can be hit so manking it look like 4 overs 42+ runs or sometimes even more. Establisjhed big names bowlers have bowled well , ashok , tyago have been bowling well, shivang has bowled well too. Its just that with changing time a bowler if 1 over away from ruining the day. Previously it was like you already know who are the batters who can hit you for 4s/6s and bowlers would try to get them off strike and try bowling the other batter, but now its not the case. young bowlers are bowling well but 1/2 overs here and there the out come look like they have not bowled well. previously 1-2 overs of pp and middle overs were safe overs but now batters are going from ball1 and keep hitting in middle overs too. express bowling 1

Even without impact sub we scored 250 thrice in the world cup. ENgland scored 300 recently in England. We made 287 in SA. Balance shift was made by batsmen. SO this is the new norm.200 gets chased easily. WC final 2023 at Ahmedabad we made 253 runs. They chased down in a jiffy. WC final 2026 at ahmedabad we made 255 in 20 overs. YOu have to blame punjab for this trend :) They started this crazy hitting in T20 with six hitters. THen SRH popularized it. Then India adopted it. Now other teams are trying to copy.

Those 5-10 extra runs will make all the difference....and at the end the total impact will ne of 25-50 runs in T20. Bigger boundaries will solve a lot of issues though, six hitting is still tougher on grounds like Lucknow. Edited April 13 by singhvivek141 tapandrun and Lord 1 1

Also we cannot create rank turners for T20 or overly green wicket. When t20 was created in early 2000s by England to find a new solution for dwindling attendance for ODIs. 3 hour fast paced entertainment. 20 overs 10 wickets in hand naturally you wil try to attack from ball one. In my view pitches didn't change or boundaries didn't change. Just the attitude change. When you showed attitude in 2000s you could do the same what you see from these guys. For the record this ist he first every IPL match. A batsman finished with a strike rate of 216. He showed intent, he had the skills so he did it. Now everyone has developed it. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/indian-premier-league-2007-08-313494/royal-challengers-bangalore-vs-kolkata-knight-riders-1st-match-335982/full-scorecard Manucrick 1

Top edges, mis hits, damn ugly hits.. etc. Also do not create full Patta wicket. Keep some balance between bat and ball. Pretty sure many batters will be found out. 200 will he hard to get. Same Suryavanshi, Abhishek, Arya type will also struggle to score so fast with any consistency. Patta wicket, no sideways movement, no spin, small boundaries ,huge bats.. vvvslaxman Posted April 24 Posted April 24 IPL should consider tweaking the auction rules to make sure stupid managements don't pick imabalanced squad. Basically you categorize players and you pick only certain number of players from each category. bowlers/wicket keepers/ batsmen/ all rounders 4 categories
AKane Posted April 24 Posted April 24 For some reasons the white ball is easier to hit than the red ball. Maybe they can make white balls more like the red balls.... express bowling 1

Thing is people want spectacle and that's what we are getting. +1 Its bad for bowlers and batsmen alike. Bowlers have got immune to being tonked for sixes back to back. They are trying crazy stuff like ultra wide yorkers, slower bouncers and what not. Good balls are traveling off edges, mishits, mistimes. Add to that the dozens of catches that are routinely getting dropped. Now there is not even an expectation that at least 90% of easy catches are taken and at least 50% of the hard ones. Catchers are dropping easy dollies and these are people who have played even international cricket for India. For batsmen, it is even worse. They are getting a false sense of over confidence that they can hit any bowler anywhere. The fact is that when they encounter even slightly longer boundary lines, all these shots that barely clear boundary lines will be easily taken on the boundary. When they encounter any pitch that offers even a slight bit of movement or extra bounce, you will see all these batsmen easily capitulate and get bundled out for less than 100. This year's IPL is the worst of all. The trend has been occurring for the last 2-3 years, but this year it is horrible. 260+ chased easily, now 230 chased with ease. This is not cricket. There is no contest between bat and ball. Two of the top 4 IPL chases ever happened today. BCCI must take immediate action. Edited April 25 by Texan Ultimate_Game and MK55 1 1
