The FA worked on a different aisle but changed to his aisle to serve briefly. Frequently, opened the overhead bin above him for no reason. Lingered in his aisle to help the passengers around him. Even though not in her assigned aisle, she picked up food tray from the seat adjacent to him and the seats in front of him. And when he looked at her hoping that she would pick up her tray too, she turned away shyly to not pick it up. The regular FA of his aisle picked up his tray, understanding what was happening b/w the two (also probably thinking this guy is dumb). When the seat belt sign was on, he asked her, as she was now seated nearby, if he could use the washroom quickly. But she scolded him stylishly to remain in his seat - you do understand that we are going through a turbulence and the seat belt sign is on? … Later when the “seat belt” sign turned off, the regular FA told him now you can use the washroom. Every time she served on the other aisle, her eyes were on him and his on hers. At times, she would make funny faces at him, and he would smile instinctively at seeing her working enthusiastically. She would mirror that immediately while flipping her hair. She gave him an opportunity to initiate while he was exiting the plane as well. He is used to getting female attention so he thought it is one of those days but only after he got off the flight he realized how special the experience was. It was as if months of such romantic interactions were compressed on this flight. It was as if a connection was being “fast tracked”. In a way, it was also as if she wrote him a poetry 30,000 feet above the ground. She showcased her emotions genuinely in his presence. The other crew members saw her interest in him and his in her. People are used to being attracted to acquaintances and friends, people they come across relatively regularly, so this experience caught him off guard. This was an outlier situation that required him to ditch the usual restraint - let’s see where this goes as we will cross paths again. He needed to act on it, at least initiate, if she refused, that’s fine. He can handle a rejection. But now he is stuck in “what if”. Anyways, we tried searching for her online to see if we could create a bridge but have failed so far. Now the ball is in her court as she most likely has his info (at least his name, if not the contact info) from the cabin crew app or the passenger manifest. If nothing happens, he would be left with a happy memory of feeling a genuine emotional connection. If she reaches out in some way, it would confirm that she is indeed special. This saga seems.more like first person narrative... @Mariyam Mariyam 1

How does that help with the topic of “finding a flight attendant”, which has its own story with its two leads? There are tons of FAs with their own set of experiences both positive and negative. PS Maybe you can ask her on how to find one, which can help both the leads. Edited April 24 by zen
zen Posted April 24 Author Posted April 24 Coming back to the story: The hero cannot find the FA to clarify his position. Moreover, he could have left her with an impression that he saw the interaction with her as a fleeting moment to be forgotten once the flight landed. The heroine could be torn. A part of her would be angry for showing her emotions to a stranger who eventually walked away. She would want to forget what happened and move on. Maybe even pretend to herself that nothing like that ever happened. While the other part would still feel the connection. The heart knows the truth. It guides to what is genuine. Simply looking at the crew that witnessed the exchanges would remind her that something real happened. She cannot escape the set - the plane, the seat where he sat, and so on. She would also likely play the interaction on a loop when alone. She is probably going through an internal battle. Maybe talking to her friends to understand what just happened to her. Some of them could be telling her - he was just killing his time, move on. You have seen such passengers. Some of them could be telling her - if it feels real, it is real. Reach out. The outcome depends on this internal battle. And on destiny, if it has a card to play. Mariyam 1

He is now writing a rom-com book about a guy ("cousin") and his flightscapades. He hit writer's block, and the whole thread's purpose is to have ICF be his focus-group for ideas on where to take the story. Or who knows, maybe he is making a movie. Mariyam and zen 2
jf1gp_1 Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Reminds me of a story from my college days. Two of my batch mates met a girl (diffent college) in some forum and for some reason both fancied their chances with her. Both subsequently fought and toss decided who gets the first go. They then went searching to her college and after few attempts finally were able to track her down. Something happened which neither spoke about but the bottom line was she already had a boyfriend. Mariyam 1

Maybe she is gathering courage. But I told my cousin to treat her like a comet “at the moment”. Comet visit. They dazzle. They leave an impression on the sky. Then they fade into the dark, not because they are forgotten, but because their trajectory takes them elsewhere. Comets may return. But you do not wait for a comet the way you wait for a sunrise. The FA was a gift. A reminder that you can still crack. That strangers can still move you. That a single flight can hold a deeper meaning. Edited May 6 by zen Mariyam 1
