Tamil has their own customs, literatures. 100s of it. WHy do you expect them to follow sanskrit? Tevaram tiruvachakam periya puranam. . Many such exists. Not that everyone knows about it. Hindi is not even a common language here let alone sanskrit. So the reach is extremely low. This is like chirstian fanatics make fun of christians who don't know psalms.

Nobody remotely uses to associate with theri religion. I don't like udayanidhi either. But this narrative won't land in TN because Udayanithid's own family practice hindu tradition.
