zen Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Parag is arrogant but confident. Not too consistent but impactful when he gets going. His effortless hitting especially in the middle overs is a delight to watch. Appears to give it all in the field as well where he can roll is arm too. His Hitting + confidence is à la Viv Richards! Overall, a solid cricketer rollingstoned 1
Ultimate_Game Posted May 17 Posted May 17 He's a bit like Pandya. He'll rub a lot of people the wrong way with his attitude. But I like him, just like Pandya, and hope he becomes a bit more consistent. A performing Parag would be a great addition to our white-ball team. He should also bowl himself more as he's a pretty decent bowler.

Can't understand why Indians prefer subservient folks. That's why they like Gill or Patidar as captain and not Pandya or Iyer who won't tow the line. Lone Wolf and tweaker 2

rollingstoned Posted May 17 Posted May 17 (edited) Ye lambi race ka ghoda hai. I see him as future captaincy material in one of the white ball formats. Have said it before. Edited May 17 by rollingstoned Ultimate_Game and zen 2
tapandrun Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Nothing wrong his attitude, do not see him crossing the line at any point as long as players are not crossing the line with their own side or opp its okay. As for his batting he has the power bt not the technique to be consistent hitter in t20s, even today Mukesh was bowling throw-downs to him no effort nothing just hit me balls. He needs to work on his hitting technique if not then need to know there are limitations to how he hits and work in those limits.

But he has to be a bit more consistent and bowl more. He should be the one taking Axar's spot instead of Sundar. And for that he has to put a price on his wkt and also bowl more often.

He is a versatile batsman comfortable against both pace and spin, both in the front foot and back foot. He also plays unconventional shots and does not appear to be afraid of getting out to take an initiative. He made a 90 in the last game and followed it up with a 50 here. So he appears to be looking to be more consistent now.
zen Posted May 18 Author Posted May 18 Talking about Parag’s effortless hitting: Note that the purpose of the thread is to appreciate Parag’s effortless hitting. I don’t care if he plays or does not play for India or India A or whatever. IPL, with its huge following, itself is a good enough tournament to be playing and performing in!

And at least here in South India , society and family try to mould you into the stereotypical "good" guy who is extremely meek, subservient. My entire childhood was about how how my cousins were more "obedient and malleable" and took part in classical arts lol. I was the deviant who was a bad influence, lol. Such a depressing society Lone Wolf 1

There are two types of expressive and aggressive cricketers in india one is that of Yuvi's and the other is that of Sreesanth's. Likes of Ganguly and Kohli falls in early bracket. Bhajji Pandya at times fall in the later. Not seen enough of parag

He was the one specifically called out and forced by Gambhir to play every match despite Rohit and Kohli given the freedom to do what they wanted. Also was dropped from leadership position from Indian team when he deserved it after his GT stint. It's clear that BCCI doesn't like his attitude and would prefer someone meek. They like Gill and Patidar types and not Pandya. Probably why Krunal didn't get chances despite performing pretty well coz he has a bit of attitude too. Same thing happened with Iyer when he pushed back at Gambhir at KKR and has been in the doghouse since. It's clear that to get selected and to be in good books of BCCI you need to be a meek person who doesn't push back. That's the reason BCCI wanted to force Gill down our throats across all formats.
