Bowling his heart out here. How come Jadeja is not in all the playing XI? Ravi singh? Is something going on between Jaddu and RR management?

It was a nice way to kick him out. Workload management applies primarily to fast bowlers and not for someone like Jadeja who's a spinner and barely bowls and as a batter hardly gets any chances. And when he gets his chance to bat he goes at a SR of 120. RR has realized he's over the hill. They should've realized it before picking him up and giving up Samson to get Jadeja is as braindead as it gets. vvvslaxman 1
zen Posted May 18 Posted May 18 (edited) Jadeja is a high profile purchase of RR, getting swapped for Samson. It is less likely that he is being neglected. IPL is a relatively long tournament so at times teams may want to rotate players especially bowlers. RR is known to change players. It is not a “same team, same everything” team. It experiments. It even used to send Ashwin at #3. Gave chances to a 15 year old Sooryavanshi. Made Parag the captain. It is possible that RR wanted to give a youngster an opportunity and also give a different look to its bowling attack. It tends to rotate Sandeep Sharma as well. So it is unfair to be judging all teams in a standardized manner as if every team acts in a particular way. Unless reports of what is actually happening to Jadeja are available, we have to go by what the team said. Edited May 18 by zen

crictime Posted May 18 Posted May 18 RR needs to take a cue from IPL behemoths like MI, CSK and to some extent KKR. Having a top performing core is very important to winning IPL trophy. Was it not 2008 under the captaincy of great Shane Warne when RR actually won. Since then it has been a dry run lasting for almost two decades now. About time RR management realizes that the optics of Ryan Parag doing 'Bihu' dance in some matches do not win matches. All pomp and no circumstance. Vk1 and cricspirit 2

I know what the general idea on Jadeja and T20 games is on here, but he was doing well for RR and they need the experience of his all round skills. He could have won them the last game. Bang bang from word go is not the only skill needed for T20. You also need players with calm mind and strong nerves. They are not using his bowling while he is the most economical bowler then have. plus the field. batting is bonus and very critical in games like last game where they collapsed. Lord 1

Vk1 Posted May 19 Posted May 19 when Vaibhav got out today they needed 41 of 36 balls with 8 wickets in hand. They played it safe till last over taking singles.. seems like a pretty timid dressing room. Vaibhav is a misfit in that environment.. its a miracle he still did so well.
zen Posted May 24 Posted May 24 At the moment, a young Punja appears to be a better spin bowling option than Jadeja. So once again to RR for backing the youngster. Though Jadeja was out due to niggles, Punga should ideally be played as the key spinner between the two.
