We dont have poweful hitter in lower order..whatever limitations he has..Dube has done it..even in cruicial matches..we need him more now when HaPa is misfiring..

we may not like it but Tilak may be left out..

 

ideally Samson/Kishan could hv been made captain and Tilak

shud hv been in for Iyer..

 

SKY doesnt deserve a place at all..

I would leave samson to his own devices. I don't want his batting getting impacted by captaincy. He is doig keeping as well.

Hitting from ball one outside power play is not going to be straight forward for specialist top order batsmen.

I still contend that it is an acquired attribute, and can be learned by someone who already has the hitting skill - like Abhishek. 

 

I can also see how a batter with strong hitting skills would not prefer to be a finisher because you don't get a chance to showcase your ability in every match. But someone like Dube or Abhishek, who have secondary skills can work there. Oh well ... just interesting to think about.

It is time to move on. I would have preferred to have Patidar in the team and given captaincy right away, but Iyer is also a good choice. Players will respect Iyer more since he has played all 3 formats for India for a while now.

Tilak won't be left out,he is infact seen as VC and infact shouldn't even think of dropping him who has a proven record

Abhishek seems the only one who will dropped to make another vacancy

This should have never happened

It will  be always between Abhishek,Kishan and Samson ,sadly they will have to vacate places for adjustments

Abhishek has proven records too..he has taken world by the storm..the MO role what Tilak did..we may expect Samson to fill..who has reinvented himself..

ofc Mumbai lobby may have other ideas..

reppacing AS with VS is just a minor upgrade in SR..imo..

but playing AS and VS together followed by Kishan is a ballistic top order..

Nobody should be dropped. But Iyer is replacing only SKY. It is vaibhav that will replace Tilak

Iyer can bat at 5 if needed. GIll can't. That is the problem with Gill.

Iyer is the best option  right now for Captain of T20 team,who else we got? we cant make a bowler the captain,we cant make Ishan or Samson the captain because they are streaky guys who go long stretch of games where they score Zilch. and people will b out for blood if that happens.

Yeah thats what I think too…If Tilak or Sharma..work hard on their bowling and develop doosra or carrom ball then..Axar wont be required..and Tilak keeps his place..but its just wishful thinking…hence I wanted Parag to develop his bowling more but injuries and imoact player rule derailed his growth as a bowler

Axar and Dube have very short shelf lives. Nitish will take one of the spot.

Additionally, the final xi which we need to fix will be done closer to the icc events..till then they may be looking at a strong squad of 15.. the players will be rotated and rested..by then their current form and any fitness issues will automatically give us the best xi..

till then we will keep seeing some mild experiments to see the balance of the side..
