tweaker Posted July 27 Author Posted July 27 The selection of India's Test squad for the two-Test tour of Sri Lanka in Aug has been hit by plenty of injury concerns and fitness issues to several key players. Selection committee, led by Ajit Agarkar, will announce the squad for the Test tour by Tuesday. Washington Sundar is unavailable for the first Test due to a right hamstring injury. Jasprit Bumrah, who sustained an impact injury to his left knee while fielding during the second ODI against England in Cardiff, is likely to be picked under the "subject to fitness" clause. Sai Sudharsan too is likely to be picked under the 'Subject to fitness' clause, though he is learnt to be "recovering well." Harshit Rana and Nitish Kumar Reddy are unavailable for the tour after having failed to recover from their injuries so far.

So Washy's injury gave a window to Saransh Jain.
Gollum Posted July 28 Posted July 28 SL side looked damn weak in WI, and many injury concerns for them as well. If we don't win 2-0, time to sack GG.

Chandimal and Kusal Mendis are reportedly injured and Nissanka is touch and go... . Should be easy but you never know with the toss in Galle. If we win Galle we will easily win in Colombo too. Siraj, prasidh, gurnoor will be in the playing XI. SO it doesn't matter who they replace Bumrah with.

He will go with 2 spinners for sure as pitches will have wear and tear. Jadeja is only an half spinner these days. Can't go with just one spinner with 2 pacers and a rookie.
tweaker Posted August 2 Author Posted August 2 The warm-up match between the touring Indian Test side and a local Sri Lankan XI has been shortened by a day. Originally scheduled as a four-day fixture, the game will now be played over three days, beginning on August 7 with the match concluding on August 9.
vvvslaxman Posted August 2 Posted August 2 Going by Gambhir's record India could be white washed. He is building a reputation for that
tweaker Posted August 2 Author Posted August 2 Auqib Nabi is likely to be the front Runner to replace Jasprit Bumrah in the Sri Lanka Test series. [
