Exactly !

 

Weird logic used is .... good quality quick pacers can bowl effectively in all phases. Swing bowlers / poorer bowlers can bowl effectively with only the new ball.

 

So why pick those swing / poorer bowlers in the 1st place ?  Why not pick the good quality quick bowlers only ?

He has better numbers than Zaheer Khan & Venkatesh Prasad.

He was a match winner for India in home conditions.

 

You could also have listed the brain dead bowlers like Jaydev Unadkut, Chetan Sakariya, Mukesh Kumar, T Kumaran, Vinay Kumar, Pankaj Singh, Abey Kuruvilla, Sid Kaul, Sandeep Sharma, Parminder Awana, Harshal Patel.

Not saying anything about Prasidh, but the bowling culture in India at least among the people who unfortunately matter in cricket administration hasn't changed one bit and there are no signs of any change in the future either.Their perception of fast bowling is stuck between medium pace and medium fast pace. Bowlers falling into this category are perceived as having received boons from God himse,lf that is, they are viewed as having divine swing (the most g@@du word I hear from quintessential,dihati ex cricketers and commentators) which looks beautiful coming off their hands.Whether it is effective or ineffective doesn't matter mucheven if they go for over 20+ runs per over, it still won't matter to them.
Pacers like Prince, आभैंस, Boobie bhaiya, Bharibojh and similar medium pacers are rated in the Steyn and McGrath category in the eyes of the clueless public, whose entire vocabulary consists of just the word swing to describe pace bowling

he is only good at Odis, they need to stop pushing him in t20is and tests. And in Odis do not bowl him in last overs
