SecondSlip Posted August 14 Posted August 14 Are BD’s pace bowlers better than ours? (Minus Bumrah) @express bowling @Lone Wolf

(Minus Bumrah) @express bowling @Lone Wolf No. All of them have high to very high bowling averages in tests. Hasan is the best but still averages almost 30 after the 6 Fer. Plus, before this test match, BD has hardly performed against the top 5 sides. Lost to Zim in their last test series too.

They are clearly second best in Asia Our fast bowling depth is impressive itself. But that being said BD is reaping rewards after bringing competent people into their coaching set up. Mehidy Miraz I believe is best off spinner right now in the world across formats though and his batting is just bonus Lyon looks washed up.

Manucrick Posted August 14 Posted August 14 If Bangladesh actually pulls off this Test win it'll be the greatest achievement in their cricket history Honestly it might be the biggest accomplishment for the whole nation
putrevus Posted August 14 Posted August 14 Geniuses are calling Green as bits and pieces player what are guys like Jurel and Sundar called then? But for them one is Gary Sobers incarnate and other guy who has avg of single digit as batsman is top prospect.

We made 288 runs in 34 overs against them as we were running out of time to win the test.

Saved us in every occasion with bat. Even with Ball he dragged India into contest, Also took out Stokes right before lunch. It is an abomination to compare green with him. Almost all his runs are clutch runs BacktoCricaddict, express bowling and Sgattick10 3

LordPrabhzy Posted August 14 Posted August 14 Imagine Bangladesh get a draw from this game- is as good as a victory for them considering they are playing Australia

putrevus Posted August 14 Posted August 14 Sundar and MVP should not be uttered in same sentence. As Ashwin said what is he after so many years. Is he a bowler who can bat then his bowling is not good enough and is he batsman then he is not good enough in top 5. What Ashwin did not want to tell is he is pure bits and pieces player.
sage Posted August 14 Posted August 14 I think Aus will do well in the third innings and we’ll get a nail biting finish

After 18 tests, Washington averages 44.6 as a batsman and 30.3 as a bowler. Plus, as you said, there have been quite a few clutch innings. After all of 38 tests, Cameron Green averages 32.3 as a batsman and 39.6 as a bowler. Not as many clutch innings. So they aren't even comparable in test cricket till now. P.S .... First Class averages are relevant only till the first 15 to 20 tests, when a player is still in a development stage. So, Green's FC averages don't matter now. Only one among Green or Webster should play. Similarly, only one among Washington and NKR should play. Edited August 14 by express bowling Sgattick10 and BacktoCricaddict 2
Sgattick10 Posted August 14 Posted August 14 Saw the highlights I thought Aus probably rested their main bowlers looking at the score. But wow Banglus played Cummins, Starc and Hazelwood easily and made big runs .. Probably end of the road for these pace trio. Manucrick and express bowling 2

Sundar is probably the only one that has test match temperament among the modern guys. NKR was brilliant in Australia. Then he started playing some loose shots. Not the best outside the off stump channel. But i still think he has a lot of potential to be a decent all rounder. Once Jaddu retires who is purely playing as a batsman these days both NKR and Sundar wil have a role to play.
Manucrick Posted August 15 Posted August 15 Australia not winning this makes a Bangladesh win or a draw the most likely options
