No questions asked. Aggy cannot be ANY worse than current baallers we carry and his fielding can beat the likes of Raina (at least in the current form that Raina is when it comes to fielding).

Agarkar would be a lot better than many of these guys. With the new ball he would be a lot more incisive than Praveen or Nehra. And his fielding is a giant step above 80% of the side, on the grounds of him actually being able to stop a ball and catch something that's hit in his direction.

According to CricketArchive, he has not played List A (OD) cricket since the 2007/8 season, which is quite a long time.

Getting beyond the initial hilarity of the proposal, the more you think about it the more it makes sense! Agarkar never used to bleed as much runs as the likes of neha, rp singh, khan, sharma and patel. His economy and strike rate was better than the current jokers who claim to be an international bowling attack. Factor in his fielding which is on a different level from the current trundlers as he can catch and throw without making a fool of himself. However it would be a sad indictment if despite all the wealth and resources, India had to go back to Agarkar.

well besides, he has ability to take early wickets, which is what we are missing.

We do need some T20/ODI specialists like Bracken maybe. It must be pretty tough to bowl in all three formats under unique conditions season after season. Each format has its requirements and although one would love to have a mcgrath to do justice to all three, its not a bad idea to have a bunch of specialists for the job.

We have to try Tyagi.. If we dont try new faces we'll have the same pool of fast bowlers for the world cup- the consequences of which we know. Dont know about Aggy. His form/wicket taking capabilities are under question mark.

i am all for trying out new blood,they cant be worse than the present lot.We are really missing irfan,he atleast provided some depth in batting.

They have been bowling on some pretty batsman friendly tracks in the last 2 matches- these are guys who have proved themsleves in ODI cricket. Praveen and Ashish both bowled well versus Australia
