Mr. Wicket Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 I am dead serious. As much as I make fun of him, and as much as it may hurt Bombay in the Ranji - bring back Agarkar. That is all.
Guest Hiten. Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 No questions asked. Aggy cannot be ANY worse than current baallers we carry and his fielding can beat the likes of Raina (at least in the current form that Raina is when it comes to fielding).
Mr. Wicket Posted December 19, 2009 Author Posted December 19, 2009 Agarkar would be a lot better than many of these guys. With the new ball he would be a lot more incisive than Praveen or Nehra. And his fielding is a giant step above 80% of the side, on the grounds of him actually being able to stop a ball and catch something that's hit in his direction.
Laaloo Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 NOcJoNNFVKE :adore: :adore: :adore: You want moooaaaar??? _UJwnjiDVEI&feature=related :adore: :joyman:
msb1991 Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 According to CricketArchive, he has not played List A (OD) cricket since the 2007/8 season, which is quite a long time.
The Realist Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Getting beyond the initial hilarity of the proposal, the more you think about it the more it makes sense! Agarkar never used to bleed as much runs as the likes of neha, rp singh, khan, sharma and patel. His economy and strike rate was better than the current jokers who claim to be an international bowling attack. Factor in his fielding which is on a different level from the current trundlers as he can catch and throw without making a fool of himself. However it would be a sad indictment if despite all the wealth and resources, India had to go back to Agarkar.
The Outsider Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Now you guys recognize the truth behind his prophetic ICF name - TAV (Tenth Aevataar of Vishnu)? :adore:
kabira Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 well besides, he has ability to take early wickets, which is what we are missing.
Clarke Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 We do need some T20/ODI specialists like Bracken maybe. It must be pretty tough to bowl in all three formats under unique conditions season after season. Each format has its requirements and although one would love to have a mcgrath to do justice to all three, its not a bad idea to have a bunch of specialists for the job.
yoda Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 so we don't have any new bowlers at all whom we can try?
cowboysfan Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 we have bowlers but NONE of them have a clue at bowling in limited overs cricket.
The Dark Horse Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 We have to try Tyagi.. If we dont try new faces we'll have the same pool of fast bowlers for the world cup- the consequences of which we know. Dont know about Aggy. His form/wicket taking capabilities are under question mark.
yoda Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 we have bowlers but NONE of them have a clue at bowling in limited overs cricket. I am not talking about the ones who have shown they have no clue. Referring to those who haven't gotten a chance yet. I would rather try a few of them than go back to someone like Aggy.

flamy Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Now you guys recognize the truth behind his prophetic ICF name - TAV (Tenth Aevataar of Vishnu)? :adore: aap bhi Prof? :(( Sir Aggy
kabira Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Its time to try Tyagi (ask him to go all out against Dilshan), I would bring back RP Singh.
Andy Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Its time to try Tyagi (ask him to go all out against Dilshan)' date='[b'] I would bring back RP Singh.
Sooda Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 They have been bowling on some pretty batsman friendly tracks in the last 2 matches- these are guys who have proved themsleves in ODI cricket. Praveen and Ashish both bowled well versus Australia
Desi Cartman Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 we also need the Whale/ Ramesh powar back in the side .. it will be some site to watch the Whale and Sir Aggy bowl in tandem :yay:
