DomainK Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Savages: A bunch of ****ed up people doing ****ed up things to each other in ****ed up places for ****ed up reasons. A woman, anchor and narrator of the story, who is kidnapped and kept hostage by the Mexican drug cartel for half the movie totally fails to get even an iota of sympathy. I usually have fun in such movies by rooting for the villains, but in this movie even the villains are ****ed up. And yes, they have totally wasted John Travolta.

The film could have been better even without the love story and the additional songs after almost every 10-15 minutes in the first half. The expectations were high from this movie after seeing "A Wednesday", and guess what, it did not disappoint, and it did manage to keep me on the edge of the seat in the crunch time :nice: All in all, a wonderfully made film, simply one of the best heist thrillers made in Bollywood.

Texy Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Special 26 was strictly OK. It had a long build up but fizzled out in the end. Nothing spectacular and 30 mins too long. There was no need for the stupid love story and stupid songs. The actress was speaking Hindi like she bit her tongue or something...seemed very unnatural. Anupam Kher, Manoj Bajpai & Akki was awesome. Divya Dutta had 2 lines. Small well done role for Jimmy Shergill. The stammering guy was HILARIOUS. I'll give it 6.5/10 ....if you're bored go watch it...nothing spectacular like some people hyped it. The 3pm afternoon show in Austin was almost full.

Not even in the same league as Step Up. I have seen the promos. They usually put the best scenes in promos and the dance they show in the promos is definitely not very impressive. I was expecting some very high quality stuff from Prabhu Deva. Step Up is in a different league entirely.
