Sachin=GOD Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 here's what Netflix does to the aspect ratios of many films - http://whatnetflixdoes.tumblr.com/
Old guy Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Definitely gonna watch this go for it..:two_thumbs_up:
rkt.india Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Finally some one who got it. :two_thumbs_up: It's basically Apartheid era with Aliens. During that time, the Africans are called as "Prawns" like they call the aliens in this movie. Also de-constructed the Alien invasion genre, and holds an awful lot of metaphors and symbolism (Cat food = Drugs, District 10 = Concentration Camps etc., ) My views are still the same. Hidden meanings and symbolism dont work because you never realize these things when you are watching it.
Detonator Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 My views are still the same. Hidden meanings and symbolism dont work because you never realize these things when you are watching it. I am quite aware of Mandela and the apartheid before watching this movie, thanks to history channel. I got some of it, while watching it. And most of it when i watched it second time.

rkt.india Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 D-Day has created a furor. Everyone is liking it, is getting some rave reviews. Both Ship of Theseus and D-Day released on same day and have been appreciated, two of the best films of the year though different genres, D-Day is more about Jingoism while SOT is more philosophical and emotional. This is how Anuradah Tewari reviewed it. Ive finally seen a Film this year that I have liked . . . almost entirely! From the idea to the story to the screenplay (largely), dialogues, performances, cinematography, editing, sound, background score, art . . . you name it. I think D Day is one of those rare films where everything comes together to not just tell a compelling story but make you feel! Interestingly structured between action and emotion . . . the rhythm of the film and the mood is simply bar raising in cinematic terms. And while Rishi Kapoor still isn't the best idea for playing that role Arjun Rampal and Irrfan Khan have scorched the scene with a rare chemistry of testosterone . . . they've killed it and how. But my respect goes most to Director Nikhil Advani . . . have never been a fan of his work . . . quite the contrary . . . but just like Sujoy Ghosh he was probably making Films he wasn't supposed to make . . . or some sort of a spiritual crisis eked out such an honest, gritty, taut and near perfect Film. Yes it loses itself a bit in the second half . . . and gets a tad Filmy here and there . . . but I along with the Cinemax Versova audience clapped in the end . . . a deeply satisfying cinematic experience.

Desi Cartman Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Finally watched Kai Po che... a good movie and the first half was a little slow. Very sad to see riots of any kind. When one knows that people die like that for no reason then it really hurts :(
beetle Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 The Pirates! Band of Misfits....I love these stop-motion clay animation movies....8/10
Detonator Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Watched Snow white and the Huntsman. Exceeded my low expectations. Snow white + Lord of Rings + Narnia.
FischerTal Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 D-Day 3/5 film was good, but too much emotional drama.... although Arjun Rampal surprised me a lot. Fantastic acting
