Anyway India is going to get phaacked. Better to have that happen with a B-team. Drop or the regulars or kick them in the nuts so that they cannot play. At least we will have an excuse.
Thats an interesting perspective :D

You may be right. There have been football/volleyball injuries before too. Was it Sehwag and Yuvi??? in some prior series?
Yuvi. Took him out for a while and his form has been off-and-on since.

Hope Team Management sends SOS to BCCI to get both A.Mithun+P.Kumar/M.Patel RIGHT AWAY so they can both prepare for Test-2 at Durban!! Do it now, so they have time to get acclimatised before the 2nd Test.
WHAT????? Are you talking about the same Dadaji Patel that I think you are talking about? The same guy who was instrumental in us losing the series last time around?? You keep on talking about how this is the biggest series ever, yet you don't remember what happened four years ago? (In case you dont remember, let me refresh your memory)
On the eve of the game, much of the discussion focused on Munaf Patel. Having injured his ankle early on in the one-day series, he had watched the first two Tests from the sidelines. VRV Singh, who replaced him, had been a liability, especially in Durban where 10 overs in the second innings had gone for 64 at a time when the game was in the balance. The team management faced a straightforward choice - either gamble on Munaf's fitness or play Harbhajan Singh, with a dry, subcontinent-like pitch expected to take turn. They went for Munaf. He bowled 20 overs in the first innings, taking the crucial wicket of Mark Boucher as India established a slender 41-run lead. But then, after the batsmen had lost their nerve and the plot, leaving South Africa a tricky 211 to win, he bowled just one over with the game on the line. "Not fit" was the word from the dressing room. After South Africa clinched the series, the inquests began in earnest. Board officials labelled Munaf "less than honest" and he has played only five Tests for India since. There are still players in the team who shake their heads when they talk of the game, insisting that the man who was just 23 at the time had let the side down.
You want the team to send an SOS to get Munaf:hysterical:

^ Holy, Well, I dont like slow moving daadaji munna much too. I'd prefer A.Mithun + P.Kumar among those three (AM,PK and MP) An inform RP Singh would be better, but that guy is still trying to get in shape. Who else are the options? We need people with some Intl experience on an important tour to handle the SA batsmen.

Too much worrying; let the game begin and we'll see who plays and how well they do so. Hopefully it will be an awesome performance so that we can have threads dedicated to each player with giant pictures in the OP.

i am really starting to freak out a bit here' date='2 bowlers are injured before a ball bowled.I just cant wait for the match to begin.[/quote'] Same here, I started to freak out as well. :eyedance: Keep the players in cottonwool and deposit them on Day-1, sheeesh!

Our players are such wimps :headshake: Cant even get out of a fun soccer match without getting injured. 125822.jpg The aussies do those kinds of things and they will come out of it without a scratch. The england had a intense boxing sessions before ashes and everybody was alright.

125 kmph Praveen is a trundler in these situations. In SA you need bounce and pace more than swing. Mithun and Praveen are primarily swing bowlers, who arent gonna be that useful on the bouncy pitches in SA. In SA we need to rely on seam movement, and seam movement at 125kmph does not cut it. Either ways, Praveen is an ODI specialist (hasnt played a test yet). Even in Ranji trophy, if you have been following his career, he has only been effective with the new ball. Unadkat has really impressed the selectors (and Akram) with his ability to land the ball on the seam. Yadav is known for his pace (He was bowling 90mph in IPL) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjEIDOF_WDo]YouTube - Umesh Yadav to Parthiv Patel[/ame] I dont agree with you, I think the selectors have made a right call in selecting these two.. looking at the fact that even praveen hasnt played a test yet, and the fact that Munaf is Munaf. Maybe they could have selected Mithun ahead of Unadkat, but thats about it.

I somehow have a feeling that the tackler here was either Umesh 'Maldini' Yadav or Jaydev 'Staam' Unadkat..
Nope it was Ishant Sharma. But Sree bowled in the nets today and is fit to play.
