You will beat the McDonalds addict to the morgue.

Anyways, you could have a really healthy restaurant Northie food if you wanted to ...just order the kebabs and tandoori chicken/fish :woot:

For Punjab, it is true that the ratio of female to male is below the national average. However, it is improving.

Still enough are aborted to get that rate much higher than it is now No, there is very little leeway or fluctation that will occur in the birthrate due to what you describle above and it will not be much higher. In layman's terms, Punjab's female to male ratio is roughly 0.9 and the theoretically norm/best case scenario is a ratio of 1. So you see there's only about 10% fluctuation that you can have in the birth rate before the female to male ratio goes over 1 (i.e more females than males). So this results in a change of just 0.2 in Punjab's birthrate, which would be 2 from the initial 1.8. See details below: Ok you claimed an increase in double the birthrate in your initial claim. If the birthrate will double because of there not being abortions, then that will result in more than 2 or 3 ore even 4 times the females than males. That is not the norm anywhere. Theoretically, female to male ratio is 1 or 1:1. Let me do a rough extrapolation taking into consideration your concern about abortions: Background info: ----------------------- * Best case scenario female to male ratio 1:1 i.e 10:10 *India's female to male ratio : 0.94 * Roughly Punjab female to male ratio is 9:10 or .9 Method: ----------- To reach ratio of 1, let's bump up the female amount to a generous 11% .9*1.11 = 0.999 Now let's do a rough extrapolation for the birthrate taking the above into consideration Punjab's Birthrate : 1.8 Let's bump it by 11% We still end up with just slightly below 2. Let's round it up and say 2 Conclusion ---------------------- Even after taking into consideration the worst possible scenario and under the assumption that the sex ratio is skewed due to abortions as well as compensating for a theoretical optimal female to male ratio of 1:1, the birthrate gets a bump of just 0.2 and results in being 2 from the initial birthrate of 1.8. Hardly, double the rate you were talking about. which would have meant double or triple the females than males. You my friend need to travel more in TN :).. but yeah the great debate is homogeneous vs heterogeneous population ? i think it would be better for a nation to be previous than latter.
