Yuvraj is the closest thing we have to an all rounder. There is no way India will be able to get through 10-14 overs from part timers without him. He simply has to play. Putting Dhoni's name there is just stupidity. He is wicketkeeper and obviously the captain. Raina will have to sit out.

As I said earlier, anyone who even thinks of dropping Raina should be shot dead twice on his head and then stabbed.... Raina is a genuine matchwinner adn the biggest reason we have been champions in ODIs... I have always believed in Raina but that Asia cup gem of his against Pakistan was the day I realized how much valuable Raina is for us... Rather than supporting this genuine matchwinner, we are doing namecalling and calling for his head... I know its tough when we have to choose between Raina, Kohli, Pathan and Yuvi but that doesnt mean we have to degrade others to prove your favorite players

Yuvi's bowling has been brilliant. I see him playing for his bowling now Its a shame Raina may have to sit out, but he hasn't done himself any favours. Lost form at the wrong time. He still has an opportunity or 2 to prove himself in the warm up games
You are ready to take Yuvi, who has been an absolute failure with the bat for the last few months but you are ready to ignore Raina, who has just failed in this series in SA (while the World Cup is in India).

Many peeps here have short term memory loss.... You cant compare Kohli with Raina.. Coming at No.3 or opening in ODI is much easier as they get good time to settle down and pace their innings At No.6, it always a rescue act or to up the tempo right from the word go. Still he averages close to 38 and 100 strike rate is no mean achievement.

To all those who say that Raina should be dropped, look at the following link: link Raina has made the most number of runs at no 6 in the entire World in last 2 years. So, the most that can be done is to have him bat at no 6 and then our batting order would look something like this: Goody Sehwag Gambhir Kohli Dhoni Raina Yusuf.

I really think Yuvi must go. It is pure hopes and wishes banking on his reputation that is keeping him in the 11. I'm sure they will come to their senses come crunch time and pick the team I think they will.

i know its probably not going to happen but imagine this batting lineup- sachin viru gg kohli raiina yuvi dhoni yusuf bhajii zak pk that will scare the **** out of any team.
they'll prolly drop yuvi and bring in munaf. still a stellar line-up.

Or the opposition would be lining up to bat against us Usually, the key to winning big tourneys is how a teams does with both the bat and the ball. Which is why it's necessary to get the balance right. The management will have to take some tough decisions regarding the playing 11.

I'm just saying what could sway things for the selectors. Raina has been one of our top batters in ODIs and T20s, but he seems to be losing form at the wrong time, maybe its just a bouncy wicket thing and he can come good in the warm up games. But for now Yuvi will be ahead because of the amount of part time bowlers India uses

Team is good provided Kohli starts working on his medium pace skills..if he can develope some reverse swing skills, it will be great..

if the pitch assists the spinners then this might be the way to go,its highly unlikely though.

Yuvraj is consistently picking up top order batsmen every game. His batting in India can be phenomenal. Agree he is out of form but I will definately start with Yuvraj first and if he fails then only raina can be given a go.

So, what's Raina's average at number 3? The fact is it's between Yuvraj and Raina. Yuvraj will play because of his bowling. Signed - The Outsider.
