Our MVP of the tournament

More than the glorious shots, his temperament was amazing. He did not want to depart without getting India past the victory mark. This guy has matured. He has become a brilliant combination of aggression and maturity. What a batsman for India!

Tremendous player. This innings is reminiscent of the one he played against Pakistan in 2003 WC match at Centurion. Dravid / Yuvraj = Yuvraj / Raina

I am one of those Yuvraj baiters who have been silenced by him through his WC performances and I am happy for that. As they say, Form is temporary, class is permanent... Hail Yuvi..

Yuvi on song makes our batting line up totally different. And what more he seems to be India's best spinner as well, truly an outstanding WC for the talented lad, hopefully this form will continue for 2 more matches :)

341 runs at 113.7 (strike rate 86) and 11 wickets at 24.6 (economy rate 4.9)...just magnificent statistics at the biggest stage of them all, and of course what the stats don't show is the sheer nerve under extreme pressure where one mistake from Yuvraj would have seen India crashing out

Yep I would say Yuvi has been India's best player followed by Tendulkar. I'm disappointed with Sehwag though, he had a good start to the tournament but has waned of late. He's a luxury type player who if he fires he fires otherwise he's not reliable at all.

Absolutely brilliant so far but we have to wait for the MoS talk. Firstly, it depends on the team that wins. Not always the case but it helps unless one player is far ahead of the rest (SRT in 03, Klusener in 99). The performance in the semis and final would also matter a great deal. If Zaheer gets 10 wickets in the next 2 games or SRT/Sehwag get 2 hundreds, they will take it home. Similar for the players in the other teams. Any idea of how the system works this time? In 96, only league matches were counted. In 99, it was a panel that decided. In 03, it was based on the number of MoM awards.

The most heartening aspect of the campaign so far is that most of the players (other than support pacers like Nehra/Sreesanth/Munaf) have contributed.... 1. Yuvraj has been the standout all-round performer with bat and the ball 2. Ashwin has been a revelation in the two games he has played 3. Zaheer has been one of the best pacer in the tourney 4. Tendulkar & Sehwag have provided good starts more often than not 5. Gambhir has mostly scored and has 3 50s 6. Kohli hasn't been great but has been decent whenever given an opportunity to bat early, and has been a live-wire on the field. 7. Harbhajan has been tidy but can do better by taking wkts 8. Dhoni's keeping and captaincy has been fine but needs runs - I think he's due in the semi & final  All in all most of the playing XI have contributed and if our support pacers step up to the plate to help out Zaheer, we should go all the way.

^^^ Yuvi has been a standout player in a team that has pitched in big time. Would have to exclude Munaf and Piyush for their performances tough...
