I rate him as the biggest contributor towards changing the fortunes of Indian cricket compared to anyone else. 10-20 years ago Sachin was still scoring 100s, few years ago Dravid, Ganguly were still pilling up runs, India was seen just as an average team but this man Dhoni has been the magician. They started winning regularly and a lot more under him.

It is almost inhuman how he keeps himself in check at all times. He is a born leader although tactically he need to still grow I think. But as I said, I have greatest admiration and respect for him

I would be jumping up and down. Even Kantikar who just hit 1 four relished his 15 minute fame after 300 plus chase in Bangladesh. Rajesh chauhan had his 15 minute fame after he silenced the deafening karachi crowd with a 6 off saqlain. Dhoni walked in at a crucial situation and played a magnificent innings and he walked out as if nothing had happened.

He won his first ever series Down Under, when every one simply expected Dhoni's team to compete and learn from the arduous tour. He won his first T20 world cup as captain, when no one thought of India as a serious T20 nation. Now he has won his first world cup as captain. In between, he has led the team to #1 position in test ranking, won an Asia cup, IPL and Champions league. Apart from Champions trophy, he's got everything thats worth winning in cricket. Absolutely stunning record as captain.

vpg0002 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 MS Dhoni .. what a captain / player / person. The knock in the finals just proved what he is worth ... Very few captains have been influential in the finals and this goes on to tell volumes about MS Dhoni.

In October 2007 in one day match against australia, when sachin tendulkar was setting the field for his own bowling, dhoni shouted at him saying the previous position was correct. 2. In test match against NewZealand last november, he took the bowl from Zaheer khan and gave it to Ojha, even as Zaheer khan was explaining him, he walked away. 3. And also having fun with his wife at the beach and taking rest from cricket to do advertisements and be with John Abraham. He has so much attitude, one day will surely come when indian team no longer have this selfish captian.

People also fail to understand "down to earth" means a person "fallen on earth", meaning "gira hua aadmi"... I am surprised no one understands the true meaning and sees the true side of Dhoni.
