Let's extend it. Irfan vs Yusuf vs Jadeja, Clearly now all of them belong to same area, all rounder but neither of shown sustainable performances. So for the future, we still need all rounder from them, which one? For me, clearly Jadeja, shown constant improvement and far more reliable.
To be fair enough we can only tell 2-3 years down the line and once Sachin retires.. we do not know how much improvement each of them would make or maybe we could have a better allrounder produced through domestics by then .. it is too early to make any conclusions .. I like the batting improvement of Jadeja in IPL but then cannot predict by a few matches of IPL .. similarly Yusuf's bowling has improved a lot but then his batting needs to improve (infact not improve and his batting his fine. He just needs to apply his brain which he does not do) .. Irfan has just recovered from injury and is very low on confidence but then he has always shown a decline instead of improvement in recent years and so the other two get an edge .. as I said none of them are worthy of that position right now and Virat deserves the place ahead of all them .. after Sachin retires in a few years, the player who has improved the most by then will get his chances.

Yusuf is the BEST Has great batting SKILS much better than irfan and jadeja Is probably as good a spinner as Jadeja Is a better fielder than both irfan and Jadeja We shud support him as he is a match Winner he is a player who is a little more powerful than all others and has now some special Skills. its crystal clear he is way ahead of irfan and Jadeja. Selectors have done the right thing by choosing him ahead of irfan and Jadeja.

lol one match n Jadeja is everyone's favourite.wat about countless he lost for India?
He has a heroic strike rate of 75 in ODI's batting at no.7.It will take more than one fluke ipl innings to consider him.

I still say Jadeja as he really has shown the greatest improvement among all 3 and really still has the highest scope for further improvement. He perhaps has the best stats in our domestic circuit for the all-rounders role, so he will always be in the selector's mind.

how about 7 batsmen and making raina/kohli/rohit etc do 10 overs
Succesful strategy when yuvi was there, the problem here is that the 4 bowlers we have are crap and certainly one or two will have a bad day,so these guys will have to bowl 15-20 overs

Irfan Pathan without any shadow of doubt. He's the only one who can do anything against quality opposition. Sir Jadeja is great at IPLdomestic level but we all know what would happen when he's faced with quality opposition at intl level.

Irfan Path was intl quality in 2004. Not now. Sir Jadeja however .... (don't think anyone knows what he is at any level :giggle:)

Pathan is at least quality as a lower order batsman/hitter. He can at least can be relied on to score quick runs at intl level whereas Sir Jadeja can do jack shyte.
