Amit Mishra: I considered quitting

I get a feeling selectors and Dhoni will make sure he does so after the series :haha: Based on this performance probably Harbhajan was right in saying he's the no. 1 spinner in India. With competition like Mishra and Piyush "Confidence" Chawla sure he's our no. 1 spinner :hysterical: Pretty damning for us that our best spinners are actually Raina and Yuvraj.
finally things have changed we have ashwin & ojha now :proud: we need to try baba ,harmeet

As long as that Carom player is in our team' date=' Mishra will have to wait, as will Ojha and the rest. The obsession with Ashwin is just ridiculous.[/quote'] :hysterical:

what baout tht left arm spinner who toured with a team ? i think his name was darekar he did well in tht tour i think even he should be ahead of bhajji

well he is a spinner and potentially has a lot of time to work hard and make a comeback. Stop whining and do something. Maybe try to get a county stint. consult with guys like terry jenner and see how he can get better. Murli kartik is doing it and atleast he has a good FC career.

Why should he quit? He has a solid IPL contract and is regarded as a good Fc bowler... Concentrate on that.. run up the numbers and when one of the incumbents are injured/out of form, his number aayega...

He's been such a big disappointment. Has completely lost his zip off the pitch and has put on around 15 pounds since his debut. Even an above average leg spinner is a valuable asset but he does not even come close to average these days. His googly to get Clarke at Mohali from round the wicket was a beauty.

BUMP Mishraji has now got another chance to redeem his career despite being in pathetic fitness. Not sure how well he has been bowling, but this, in all probability, is his last chance. Some good performances in the chances he gets in the next few ODIs vs Pak and Eng and he could even be back in the test side vs Aussies. Hopefully he will start working on his fitness and lose some of the flab accumulated in last 15-20 months.

mishra is unfortunately a better option than Chaiwala but again Vinay is a better option than Mithun....same logic applied here. Also his No-ball ability is really  worthy for a spinner

Surprisingly Mishraji's list a record is pretty good.144 wkts in 92 matches wth an avg of 24.94,econ rate 4.46,strike rate 33.4 & best of 6/25.Plus he has improved his batting in the last year or so.

Dunno why we have these players who look like they would be better off managing kiranas than playing international cricket. Mishra, Powar, Ashwin...and that's just the bowlers. Especially Mishra with his weak chin...whenever I see him I have to resist the strong urge to shout out "Abey ek kadak chai le aa, chini kam, chai zyada"

Amit Mishra was given plenty of chances and going back to him is a step backwards, he bowls too slow to be effective, not much fiz of the deck, cannot use the bounce and cannot bowl according to the surface and player, again selectors chose wrong player, I would rather give a rookie a go atleast there is a chance he might learn.

Mishra will not be picked for the final XI. Jaddu would be the second spinner. Still, Mishra is better than Rahul Sharma and Piyush Chawla.
Rahul is better
