vamos_rafa Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 + Kohli I am not entirely sure about Kohli as far as tests go. I know people here really rate him but personally I somehow feel he would end up being more of an ODI player. And the way he struggled in WI, really makes me feel the same more and more. The way Pujara handled the pace battery in SA, even though he didn't score many, told me that he should be a force in test cricket. Infact the very same arguement should be extended for Rahane as well.
ShebbySB Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Future Test team:-Gamhir,Mukund,Rahane,Pujara,Kohli,Yuvraj,Dhoni(c & Wk),Ashwin,Praveen,Aaron,Ishant.Reserves:-Rohit,Gautam(Wk/Bat),Ojha,Mishra,Umesh,Tyagi.

Kohli has played some brilliant innings in ODIs vs every opposition in different conditions. He has the technique & temperament to excel in tests too.One bad series in WI doesn't make him bad.Mukund,Pujara,Rahane,Kohli & Rohit these 5 guys are our future test stars.

I feel his temperament would make him falter. I am ready to eat my words though.

I am not sure about Rohit. He can be brilliant at times and extremely lazy other times. Laziness+broad bowling is the reason he is injured.
sarcastic Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Good knock today!!!!! (Still at the crease) Proving his class step by step :icflove:
Pagalpanti Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Was struggling but he still fought it out and has got a 50 now.
Blue Panther Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 little slow for my liking and very soft. Very good technique tho.
Cricket Tragic Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 little slow for my liking and very soft. Very good technique tho. :WTF:
vvvslaxman Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 This guy is not definitely lazy like Rohit sharma.
Number Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I missed that. Was he really too slow ? , 91(104) is fine for an opener unless you are Sehwag.
Yoda-esque Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Hes a good test player..not too bad at ODIs We need somebody Sehwag-esque though...somebody who can demoralize
Pagalpanti Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 He looked a bit edgy at start, but after he got his 50, rotated strike very easily along with Gambhir. Set up the win. 1st Man of the match I believe.
Blue Panther Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I missed that. Was he really too slow ? ' date=' 91(104) is fine for an opener unless you are Sehwag.[/quote'] i said too many dot balls. Hit fours, but failed to rotate the strike. He put pressure on gauthi and he went for a big shot and got out
Cricket Tragic Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 He will improve with more games. Learning how to pace an innings takes time.
