Being English i don't know too much about this young fella, but having dug around for some news on him he seems a genuinely quicker bowler than the current lot toiling away over here. Consistently over 140k's and can reach up to 150K's is not bad at all. But looking at his FC stats his bowling average is 38.48, which is quite high no? So this is directed at anyone who has actually seen him play on TV or live, and not just in T20 as i don't think that is a good judge of players. Any insights would be interesting, action, pace, swing, bounce?? all that stuff! A proper diagnosis! Cheers

My analysis of Aaron -- -- I have watched him in domestic 50 over game highlights and he has looked quick visually. The speed gun readings have been between 142k to 147k mostly. Whether he maintains that pace in international cricket or chooses the easy way out like many of his predecessors remains to be seen. -- He bowls outswingers and and incutters mainly. -- He has a tendeny to bowl frequent short balls -- hitting the deck hard and making them rise. He has a good bouncer. -- His height is around 6' but he looks shorter because of his large head and strong build. -- I don't think that he has mastered the art of taking wickets consistently yet. But he was reasonable accurate in the IPL and bowls from close to the stumps. -- It would be too optimistic on the part of us to expect him to take a lot of wickets in his first season. He has still got a lot to learn and is not a finished product yet. -- The Indian seletors should give him sufficient chance to develop and learn as he has the potential to be really threatening. He should not be dumped if he does not produce miracles in this series. ( there is very little chance that he would ) -- I am apprehensive whether he would lose pace after his first season, like many Indian pacers. Would the Indian team management try to ensure that he does not --- that is the main question. In a nutshell he has the potential and the basic qualities to be a fast strike bowler in 2/3 years. But he should be looked after properly and too much should not be expected from him too soon. Also, what his own attitude is and whether he is prepared to bowl fast for the next 8/10 years, only time will tell.

Really? that's pretty good if he can bowl close to 90 mph occasionally in international matches

Don't know whether he 'll be answer to bowling problems or not, but he can't be worse. More importantly , by keeping a 120kmph trundler already 27 (Vinay) in the team , we are going nowhere. Anderson , Broad , Lee none of them were excellent bowlers when they started their careers , they learned as their career progressed. So we'll have to develop him by giving intl experience.

Dhoni was talking about our bowlers are not deceptively quicker. This is a new kind of a bowler now. What defines deceptively quick. Is a bowler who can bowl consistently over 140 is not a considered as deceptively quick or deceptively quick is something else. Though Dhoni does not have deceptively quick bowler, but he certainly has a deceptively slow bowler who when runs in his runup looks like to be delivering a thunderbolt but at the end his runup ends faster than what his deliveries reach to the batsmen and a batsman can easily have a nap in between before having pies served by him. He is so deceptively slow, so Dhoni's strategy is that batsman gets to sleep sometime while playing him and he gets through the defense of the batsman. But unfortunately for Dhoni, this bowler has not even been successful in doing this. He needs to up his pace a bit now because he is even too deceptively slow to reach the stumps. He actually deceives batsmen while making a batsman gets to sleep but because of the deceptive slowness of his delivery, it stops before hitting the stumps in between batsman's legs and the stumps.

If he is not something likes of Suarav Ganguly and Akram would have not been asking for his inclusion.

Seems like he is a fast medium bowler who operates around high 130's and low 140's (still quicker than Indias attack) who just happened to bowl one ball recorded in the 150's (probably through speed gun error) and is now a genuine quick.

This is a typical of indian Fans we want instant results,if aaron has talent he needs to be nurtured and backed to hilt and developed .then we will see results.
