Also check out Hercule Poirot, A Touch of Frost, The Rockford Files, kojak, Pery Mason, Cannon, Inspector Morse, Lewis etc (I haven't seen many some of these but have read good reviews) Here are some more good shows (most are not so wel known) - http://karin-kaufman.blogspot.in/2012/03/top-ten-tv-mysterydetective-shows-of.html
