Not bad, but we might have better players in a short format like t20. In the ODI World ICC x1 team so definitely should continue in ODI'S. Yes, hasn't been at his best.

I dont think I have a premier batsmen who is a more impulsive, reckless runner between the wickets than Gambhir. And when the opponent is Australia, the problem seems even worse. Anyone remember his shockingly suicidal running that nearly cost us the Quarter-final against Australia in the WC? Same in the first Super-8 match against Australia as well. This may not look that important now, but we were doing just fine at 50-1 after about 6 overs against Australia. Our man Gambhir duly runs himself out and we fold for 130, when we could have gotten 155-160. And in the end, it was the NRR that bit us hard on the back-side.

If Gambhir bats long enough he generally gets run out. In fact both Gambhir and Sehwag are such poor runners that half th time you are praying that our openers don't get run out :facepalm:

His ODI performance hasn't been great either if you forget SL and minnows. He has consistently failed against WI, Australia and SA. Any team with decent bowling line-up troubles him.

I remember one fifty where he was celebrating as if he had made 200 and was swearing all the way bcoz he wanted to prove he is able enough for vice-captaincy. i personally thinks he should be dropped for next series and guys like Rahane need to be given a chance.
