No. It's the other way around. WC over test series anyday. Test series keep on coming every 3-4 years and it's easier to win as there are two teams only. World Cup there are always 3-4 good teams so harder to win.

Let's be honest, you ONLY had to string three wins together to win it. World cups come round every couple of years too now if you include T20.

Bilateral series you just wait for a time when opposition team becomes weaker or you become stronger then you can win. eg NZ 2009, WI 2006, Pak 2003-04

We do care but thing about overseas tests is that you do well the next series everyone forgets about that eg no one talks about 5-0 whitewash Poms got but the 3-1 Poms handed out. Similarly you guys go on about the 2-0 you gave Poms forgetting that they won the time before that. World Cup memories last forever. Look at the number of ppl from your country with 1992 signature, profile name, avatars on various forums.

We can win the series and rule Australia or South africa, once in 4 years, but nothing like being called WORLD champions by wining the cup in which every cricketing nation is participating. Let's not forget the atmospher and the pictures and the crowds. Our country was on streets. Those days of world cup, our country was watching every game with passion. There is something about winning the world cup. People were watching the game together in millions. Tendulkar would never cry after winning a series in Australia or England, world cup though will make him cry.

We have never a test series in Aus/SA. We have won the WC once in 1983. I wanted to see it my lifetime. A lot of people have already passed away without witnessing a series victory in Aus.

Take South African for example. People are dying there too. They won the test series in Australia on their last visit. But they would do anything to swap that with a world cup. They would love to win another Rugby or Cricket world cup. They might win tri series and bilateral series in either game, but would not just dream, but think all day long about winning the world cup. NOTHING WILL EVER MATCH WORLD CUP. Infact I would want another world cup victory over a test series in Aus. I would love to see a test victory in Aus/SA. I badly want, but I would want another world cup over it.

I would like to add that recovering from the Centurion loss took quite some time. It affected our team's performance as well. Mohali is a forgotten story and certainly doesn't pain me in the least to discuss. Just don't bring 2003 WC into the discussion:((

Winning the ODI WC has its own importance .... Will not swap it for the test series wins in Aus, Eng and SA .... In Eng, we have won thrice, iirc. once in the 70s (?), '86 and '07 so it should not be in the list. Don't know how many times Eng has won in Ind post 70s

77 We will see a series win in Aus and SA in our lifetime. Don't you worry about that. WC is far far more important than test series. I felt bad at the 4-0 loss but it was nothing compared to how I felt during the 2003 final and the 2007 first round exit.

I believe Test Cricket has a chance after all! The poll results reflect that. It takes more effort and a higher skill level to conquer places like Oz, SAf and Eng. I'm not downgrading the importance of a World Cup though. Between the Mohali win and victory overseas, I know what I'll take :winky:

O ya right buddy. Go find a corner n cry. There is no way in the world any Pakistani wud prefer a test series win over loosing to India in Wcup SF.. I saw atleast 5-10 Pskistani college kids crying after Mohali... Saw them running away in 49 over hiding in their residence rooms n u r telling me u wud prefer some overseas series over that match. Atleast be honest to ur self buddy. And please for god sake remove that Afridi if u love overseas TEST victory so much. Bloody liar!!
