Pattinson, Cummins, Siddle, Harris, Hilfy, and Starc will form a lethal attack. They bowled even better than England bowlers. 4 out of 8 innings, we could not score even 200 here and these pitches were much better than those were in England for batting.

We had our regular openers, our best bowler, everyone's punching bag Bhajji wasn't there either, there was no post IPL fatigure, we played an extra practice match, players reached there early...and then to top it all, we started so well on day 1 of the series only to give it away and then completely lose it from thereon.

In England we had excuses like injury to key players, long lay-off from cricket etc. In Australia we had none and just before the series started the Aussies had lost to NZ and also were bowled out for 47 against SA. In England we thought the English were too good and we had bad luck. In Australia, we realised that our team has become hopeless and the way the cricketers and the Board are behaving the future looks hopeless too.
ZodiaC Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Both were really humiliating, though this time we had no excuse at all -we had Zak throughout the series, we had the best possible XI, and were facing an unsettled Aussie side who were beaten by NZ. I really thought we'd manage a draw at least here and England was a one off.
daryl1985 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 This one hurt much more. In England we had a lot of injury problems, our preparation was not great and most of us believed it was a one off. This one hurts more because we had everyone available (PK only possibly absentee) and got beaten even more convincingly by what i feel is a worse team.

In england, we had some issues - injuries to key players, mental fatigue etc. That white wash was bad but there was some consolation that it was a one off series that can happen to any team. In Australia, we had the best team, except perhaps for Praveen. There were no injury issues. Zaheer was there, the promising Yadav was there, the legends were there, Bhajji was not there. There was also the lessons that were learned from England. The white wash in Aussieland beats me. How can it that a top team can loose to another team ( which was struggling even against NZ) like this. This white wash confirmed to me that India is fast declining and unless we do a complete overhaul we are going to plummet further. Luckily, another overseas tour is not there for a while, or we would be seeing another ignominous white wash. Indian players are in delusion blaming bad luck, time and stars. They have not learned a thing from these two tours. They are some how hoping that the revival will come about automatically when the time is good. Good champions create good teams and do not wait for one.

We came in as this #1 team that had known nothing but success over the last few years, and were completely humiliated. That, in effect, softened us for the Australian series. It wasn't so unexpected.
