Wow!! Tragic there Mh, but there is something very beautiful and lovely about it. True love, however fleetingly momentary, stays in one's mind and what you mention is an example of true love. So sorry for your friends.

So sorry for your friends.[/quote'] exactly ... This song was so close to them when they were lovers.. after she died each and every words of this song felt it was meant for them.. when she was taken to the hospital with sever burns - she was just calling his name in sub conscious status... both were kept in diff. wards , she passed away in the mrng (no one told him till he was cured) later on he was shifted to another hospital ... When he was cured we told him the story .. how she was crying with pain and calling his name... He started crying and sang these verses which i thought was meant for them "Jo raat humne guzari maar ke , vo raat tumne guzari hoti.." He felt that he also should have died with her and always blamed himself for her death .. he said she was crying in pain and he couldn't do anything... this lead to drugs and proved fatal for him. When i remember those days .. i have goosebumps... for many years i refrained from this song... Because whenever i did it used to bring the whole episode in front of me.... :((:((:(( Sry to derail the thread...

You just gave a completely different meaning to the song mate. The original lyrics were conceived as part pain, part complaint. Jo raat humne gujaari mar ke wo raat tumne gujaari hoti , suggests more of a complain from the protagonists who wonder if the other person realizes how much pain the former had to go through in life, and if they could spend just one night in their shoes perhaps they would know? There is a element of complaint there for sure. The interpretation of your friend is completely selfless and sacrifical, there are no complains here, only a tacid sense of helplessness wishing if was him. Wow! Hats off to your friend. Truth is indeed stranger than fiction :hatsoff::hatsoff: PS: Dont worry about derailing, such stories are amazing and worth tons of threads like this.

Best of decades is tough. So here is my pick for just one decade...and only one genre.. d) Bazaar The only movie Sagar Sarhadi ever made. And what a movie it was too. Great literary works by Mir, Makdhoom and others. Parastish kiya tak ke aie but tujhe sabhon ke nazar mein khuda kar chale.... :hatsoff: zVsIxzMgwVY
Was listening to this song today .. what a natural beauty was Supriya Pathak :icflove:... no funny makeup which u normally see these days.... Tujse Naraz nahi zindage .. Female version is also very good.

Supriya Pathak was pretty in a very feminine way. Big speaking eyes, natural smile and a naughty grace to her. I love that movie Bazaar. It is rememberd today mostly for its songs but what a story it had! Essentially talking of Muslim girls from Hyderabad who would often be bought by Saudi Arabs or Indian Arabs, if you will. The Indian Muslims who would come back rich and crave for a young nubile wife. The amazing thing is the story remained true to the subject, it is almost exclusively Muslim story, but there are absolutely no religious undertones. Thats how a movie should be. I am not sure if such a movie can be made today without controversies. Which beggars the question, With time have we progressed or regressed as society? There is also something to be said about how with each decade we progressively lost movies based on Muslim backdrop. In many ways 80s was last such decade but even then we had moies like Bazaar, Tawaif, Nikaah, Razia Sultan etc. It is a controversial topic to even consider making a movie with Muslim backdrop these days. xxx

Mera Naam Joker: IMO Raj Kapoor's best work. Anand: Even after all these years, this movie can make people senti. Sahe Biwi aur Ghulaam: Guru Dutt, IMO was the best film maker of that time. Jewel Thief: IMO was a superb thriller at a time when thrillers were not common in Bollywood.
