For ages I've been jumping on band wagons, whinning, name-calling cricket players, generally trolling.. :embarassed: Today I played cricket (on the nets on the local leisure centre) after a loooong time.. Met guys from the local CC. They've been practicing regularly before they go outdoors as the season commences... Watching them play, I thought, none of these guys could be wasting time (like me :(( ) discussing and ridiculing top players in some random phorums...They young, strapping Punjabi, Gujju and few Pakistani blokes... It needs phacking dedication, skills, lot's of hard work for players who reach the heights they are we don't even waste time, ridiculing them.. Go there, try yourself and see how you fair..before you take potshots on firstclass players... Many of you are actively playing cricket I'm pretty sure most of you have balanced views about players...

I have stopped playing since the past 3 years due to a diametrically opposite career but I do check-in the nets once in a while. I may start playing once again this June as the facilities would be much close by.

Cricketics Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Play club cricket. Still have a dream to represent India or USA one day. Cricket in america has changed a lot from what it was 10 years ago. In past 5 years, lot of clubs have started all over USA in different leagues. More young people have started playing than the regular IT people playing on the weekend. There is a American College Cricket league tournament every year, and it's good to see all College folks playing some high class cricket in America's only cricket stadium @ Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Jersey #10 Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 I played club cricket for about 7 years. Also played high school cricket for 3 years and captained one of those years. I had to give up playing club cricket because of school and work simultaneously takes away most of my energy. Club cricket in the USA is quite competitive and rigorous. I used to be the first change bowler and an opener in high school. In club cricket, first change bowler and play at #5 or 6.
rkt.india Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 I started playing cricket first when I was around 10. At that time, we used to use heavy plastic ball. I dont know how it was developed but I always liked to bowl fast, never liked batting. I used to always take ball first in my hand. My first was always used to bowl yorker and clean up the batsman. Few years later, tennis ball replaced plastic ball when we shifted to a new residential building which was famous for cricketing activities and they had team which used to play in cricket tournaments. Though I could not play for the club much with them due studies. I later played cricket in college too and was opening bowler for my team. Then I had started working for a company as I touched 20 and since then I play cricket just to enjoy, used to practice a lot with the same club in 2010, every evening, used bowl and bowl plenty of overs for an hour without break, every kind of fast, off spin, leg spin, but now I only play at my home with my younger brother every now and then, but calcaneal tendonitis has limited my activities a lot. My younger brother has played more competitive cricket than me. He has played national north zone University cricket for Garhwal University. He was WK/batsman.
