never had expectations in the two decades I have followed our team. If we win great, if we lose, oh well! one thing I don't like abt Indian cricket is the lack of professionalism across the board, from admins to players, barring a few exceptions like Dravid and Kumble. Most other players are either unfit, have no work ethic, don't give a damn about the team, or a combination thereof. Most of the wins occur due to natural talent and things coming together at the right time, rather than clinical performance with planning and purpose behind.

And Tendulkar. Say what you may about the guy's current form, but his commitment and professionalism have never been in doubt. I am not so sure about your other arguments, either. They seem to come together in LOIs pretty well and play as a team. They just don't have the aptitude and patience for test cricket. So be it.

Culture in Team India I think the very fundamental problem that is taking the team down is that 'Superstar' culture/attitude.. No one is getting pushed to perform above and beyond. I would rate Dravid the highest for his work ethics.. goes above and beyond. But we dont have players like that anymore.. Veeru/Gauti - No one is daring to drop them... I would have dropped Gauti for throwing Veeru under the bus in that run out.. Yuvi - where is the intensity? Dhoni - Non performing captain.. who has N.Srinivasan hand above him... + his attitude is players are adult and they should be responsible.. i am not going to say anything.. It works when you have players like Dravid/Raina in the team but not Veeru/Ashwin type players SRT - Stays mum even when we are facing defeats after defeats.. he is the senior player and needs to light the fire under some of these players.. Ashwin - ok, i am a csk player.. i am set for another two years.. Only players seem to give a damn and it could be because they are new are.. Ojha Pujara Kohli

I have never seen such a helpless Indian side in the home conditions.. can you guys recall? Even against the great Australian side during the series we lost we were always in the game in some of the tests. Heck. But for rain we would have tied the series. In the last 1 year we have a grand total of 6 test centuries. Pujara 3. Kohli 2. Viru 1. That's about it.

I agree about the overall attitude and lack of fitness. Just wanted to point out that SRT does not fit that mould. Yes, he appears to be hanging around longer than we think he should, but he is giving it his all when he's on the field. Hope he can leave in a blaze of glory. My understanding was that Kirsten and the team plotted and strategized for WC 2011 success for 2 years. They all looked physically fit, sharp and mentally tuned-in. Of course, things came together because they made it happen.
